Date dependant Dan I'll be up for a go on the rollers ;)

I'm pretty sure the difference between stage1/2/3 for the PD150 turbos are:

Stage1: Bigger turbine internals

Stage2: Cut back exhaust side blades - quicker spool/flows more exhaust gasses

Stage3: Bigger exhaust side wheel, but i've heard they are a pain to control when mapping.

Mine too was mapped and tweeked by the guys at Dirty Torque. Fantastic service as mentioned above and still going strong 10k miles later :)

Not been on here much lately, so only just picked up this thread.

Good going Dan! Glad it's coming along :-)

I will 100% agree with the comment about not waiting for it to go pop though. Mine went pop after a run pushing the car to stupid speeds at silly o'clock in the morning on a bare road, and I nearly lost my engine....  By the time I could come to a stop it had nearly burned through all the engine oil. Ant at AP took it apart and gave me a piece of the shaft that was close to entering the engine    Had that happened then I'd have been paying for a new engine also....

As Dan suggested, extra labour had to be spent to remove and clean all the intake system. So it's simply not worth waiting for it to go! I was lucky to say the least....  Not to mention the fact that due to having no car I had to plump for a brand new turbo - hence £££. Plus because my turbo was well beyond repair, I had to pay a £200 +VAT surcharge. Ant did a cracking job and was quick to turn around I will add :-)

How's the smoke with yours now Dan? Mine smokes a bit more than a stage 1 map when it comes on boost, but I'm guessing this is partly due to not having a FMIC yet. I absolutely can't wait to get a FMIC and Helix before unleashing it properly! I want the extra torque more than anything. Ant reckons mine should be around 200bhp'ish at the minute. Torque feels slightly less than a stage 1 map, but that might just be me. I'm running a PD150 Hybrid freshly manufactured by Garrett (annoyingly they didn't have any on the shelf when mine blew...)
