Waiting at the dealers to collect my car.

Featured Replies

Well, finally there waiting to collect the car. Just depends how long it takes vw finance to pay the dealer as to when I can get it.

Then got to look forward to a 200 mile trip home to get used to the car.

...enjoy and most importantly; have a safe journey home !

Enjoy!! Have a great drive home

Thanks, I've just driven it to the petrol station to fill it up.

Still waiting for the payment to complete then I can start the 3 and a half hour drive home.

Enjoy your day. Safe drive.

Did you only arrange the finance on the day you were due to collect the car?  Very strange, nver heard of having to hang about a dealer on collection day waiting on the finance to pay the dealer?????

I had the same issue when collecting mine, they couldn't exchange the money until they checked my car over - we drove nearly 400 miles to part ex so we had to wait about an hour for the funds to transfer too... Hope you have your new car by now! :)

Normally you'd sign the finance paperwork before you collect the car but I live 200miles from the dealer so I'd rather wait a few hours on the day then spend 6 hours driving there and back to sign some paperwork.

Finally home. Managed 57mpg over the journey and I didn't go slowly.

Only problem is the PID isn't correctly docking so looks like a trip to the local dealers.

what do you mean "not correctly docking" ?

attaching to the cradle?

cradle attaching to car?

or PID not pairing correctly to car?

was it in a sealed box?

The problem lies with the cradle connecting to the car. If i hold it down it connects to the car etc. fine but as soon as I let go it loses connection a day only the navigation function works.

It was new in a sealed box.

I think someone else had this problem and it was one of the contacts on the dashboard. Does it drive well Markyg?

Yeah it drives very well. Can't believe how good it was on the motorway.

Hopefully I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

It seems like a contact thing re: PID I'll have a look tomorrow and if I can't get it to work I'll nip to the local dealers.

Sorry to hear about your PID problem.  The dealer should have noticed this when inspecting the car.  My dealer had everything set up and working, including the PID when we collected our Citigo.  The problem I find is that it is quite difficult to get the PID to click unto the mount.   No problem with the mount connecting to the dash.

To be fair to the dealer they did say they would try and resolve it there and then or if not I could take it to my local dealer as a warranty item. After a long day I opted for the latter.

I've just had a look at it now and it looks like it's all fine (touch wood!). The cradle wasn't connected to the car properly.

Fingers crossed - looking forward to the pics.
