Boot lighting

Featured Replies

Hi,

So i had to get something out the boot the other night of the shiny new Fabia (:-D)

anyway the light that's in there is useless! completely pointless if i'm honest!

SO....can i upgrade the amount of light in there?

Im thinking of installing some 12v LED light strips in there working from the current light socket. im not going to hack in to the sockt, im planning on some simple contacts on the current points.

Anyone know if this will work?  any suggestions?

Thanks

Some Citigo owners have gone for a motion sensor activated LED battery powered light on the parcel shelf (no boot light at all..).  Ones on Amazon for a few quid?

ill have a scout around for that.

Just been looking at the current light in the boot and I'm planning on trapping the wires from the led strip so i wont be damaging anything.

Hi go on to ebay and buy 2 lengths of 12v led about 30 cm in length turn it into 2 circles of light and wire them into the boot light.....here ya go ..simples. IMG_3499_zps6f643c91.jpg

Thats exactly what i have been looking at ( the light strips) bargain price to!

Thanks

its the wiring thats a bit fiddley but once thats done aii ya do is splice the new wires to the existing light wiring and were i have positioned the new lights there is grills so its just a matter of making a circle of light and using small cable ties to hold the new lights tight to the grill.

You could of course get the cuttable lengths of LED strips and stick them in a more appropriate way!

I did just the same with my vrs.

Absolutely nothing to do with LEDs..........where did you get your boot bag from?? Been looking for something like this but haven't stumbled across anything.

As per my poiint of view you should go for the 12v LED bulb which would really work well in the dark and as per the source then you may find these type of bulbs from eBay, or Amazon both are good you can try out any one of these.
