Hi all thought I would share my experience of my first year as a skoda owner I have a 1.9 sdi here is a list of everything I have done

1 rear shocks

2 bodywork repaired and filled

3 new battery

4 wiring redone to power steering pump

5new clutch

6second hand abs pump and fuse

7new cat

8 new rear spring

9rear cylinders

10 rear brake shoes

11 rear drums

12 handbrake cables

13track rod ends

14 ball joints

15cv boots

16 console bushes

and also a number of wear and tear items:, bulbs ; tyres and 6 new tyres due to too high millage  and brake pads

Hopefully the next year wont cost as much as this year

Yeah bet that's not the best feeling, too be fair though most of that is parts that can wear just like any other car.

If the car hasn't had much maintenance then this would be expected, obviously not what you would like but these things happen

Nearly all of that will be age/distance/ driver abuse causes mate, same with any car , at least its given you peice of mind there sorted :)

Yep as above

Sensible thing now is to keep the car and see how it goes, hopefully the bills will settle out

Hi sorry for late reply. yeah think this car will be coming to the grave. It has full skoda history until I got it and  1 owner. now it is serviced every6k miles. At least now I have piece of mind that all that work has been done. cheers bob

Could have saved a little dosh with 7. by just fitting a decat.  An actual cat isn't necessary for the car, or for MOT. :)

yeah mate it was the flexi section of the cat that was gubbed . but the flexi had been taken out and welded in so whole lot had to be replaced pain in the ass

Something tells me you fitted the ABS pump before realising the fuse had blown ;)

Iv never known an ABS pump to go on a fabia.. school boy error which wud have saved u sum ££ and a bit of time :)
