Currently in a Citigo

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is best in here or the Citgo forum!

Whilst my car is in the dealer for the front bumper to be repainted, lane assist to be fixed and an attempt to code the Columbus to work (last go before giving up and going back to the Bolero), I've been loaned an brand new Citigo Elegance.  The reg number is one letter different to my vRS..

You know what? What an awesome little car!  I'm hating on my vRS at bit the moment due to the problems I've had with it and the Citigo is a breath of fresh air.

I was almost tempted to tell the dealer I might keep it

I've had a little citigo a couple of times and like you I loved it. Defo the next car for swimbo.

Recently had a pug107 on hire and hated every minute of it.

They need to stick a decent 100bhp or more engine under it to convert me to get rid and go that small.

@hkp

I may be persuaded to swap my Citigo for your vRS...

Providing you throw some cash my way as well :D

One wouldn't expect any less!

Maybe when my vRS is back all nice and working again I'll be happier. I hope so!

Honestly though, you Citigo folks do have it good - what a fun little car it is and pretty well specced too, I was surprised to see heated seats..

We're lucky enough to have an Octavia and a Citigo.

We're lucky enough to have an Octavia and a Citigo.

and do you think the Citigo is a superb little thing?

It reminds me of when I used to drive underpowered little Peugeots in the 1990s - you have to really work to keep it going and use the momentum to make decent progress.  Whilst I thought that might be frustrating, it's actually quite rewarding.

Cars like the vRS (and less powerful turbo'd ones) are almost too easy as they have more than sufficient power to make decent progress in any conditions.  It takes some of the fun out of driving.

I miss the bootspace though, is that hole in the back classed as a boot on a Citigo?   :giggle:

and do you think the Citigo is a superb little thing?

No -the Superb is a different model  :giggle:

Really like the Citigo -in comparison other cars in the same class the boot is actually pretty big, but you could probably fit a Citigo in to the boot of an Octavia

The only thing I don't like is the lack of reach adjustment on the steering wheel and it gets uncomfortable after a while (I'd like the wheel closer)

Love driving little cars with low power, just like you say you feel so much more in touch. I find it very hard to drive our one slowly  :bandit:

When I ordered my vRS I also ordered a Citigo sport for the wife.

She's had it for 3 weeks now and I have to say its a fantastic little car and as it's running in its becoming pretty nippy too. Compared to most city cars it's still quite quick (for a 1.0, 3 pot) even at higher speeds and will sit comfortably at 70-80 mph feeling solid on the road. To top it all off I think its a really good looking car :-)

I have to say though, from my 3 or 4 times the wife has actually let me drive it, as greenstripe said, it could really do with reach adjust for us taller people as it gets uncomfortable after a while but on the plus the Octavia will be doing all the long runs anyway or at least it will when it arrives.

The Citigo is perfect for what we want it for and with 300 odd miles on it's doing high 40's - mid 50's pottering about and into the 60's (on the trip) on medium runs and it's getting better all the time.

Just can't wait for my Octavia to land now and if impresses half as much as the Citigo I'll be one happy motorist.

I have a Citigo Elegance, and an Octavia Elegance.

love driving them both.

was planning on using the citigo as the family weekned car (if we didnt need the boot) but we tend to just choose which car is easiest to get to, and whether I feel like changing gear (I have a DSG in my octavia).

I'm worried about myself - I'm still in the Citigo and washed it today.  I've never washed a loaner before!  This damn little thing is getting under my skin.  It fits nicely in the garage too.

Love the Citigo almost as much as the Octy, cracking little cars.

Shame I can't have both - but utterly no need for two cars... I'm sure I'll love my Octy again when I get her back. :)

We're lucky enough to have an Octavia and a Citigo.

Snap, so do we.

I prefere to take the CitiGo out rather than my Vrs

What engine is in the wee yoke ;)

A citigo VRS would be good.

1.0 litre 3 pot. Sounds a bit like a beetle engine I think..

hkp, has it the best feature to entertain little kids. - Wind up windows.

I had a Citigo as a loan, and my little one loved the windows. It was a great car, but I'm not sure I could live it long term.

More like a miniature Porsche 6.... makes a very pleasing soundtrack in my opinion

Looks like a modern Noddy car. :giggle:

We have an Octavia FL and a Citigo Sport on order.  They are serioulsy great cars.  I have driven 3 of them, a basic S which I still thought was great, especially if you consider what it is going to cost you.  In the end I just wanted a Sport but in all honesty I would have been happy with any spec, with a family of 4 the 5 door is more practical although I think the 3 door looks better.
