Mk3 L&K likely?

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard if we will be treated to a L&K?

What would you like or expect to see included?

Heated leather seats, xenon leadlights and a few other bits and pieces might be nice.

It would just need to have everything IMO. Otherwise it's just a confusing choice for a lot of buyers. Just load it up, delete the options list and make that the differentiator - "this car doesn't have an options list, it's already fully loaded".

I can see the L&K being available after a year or so once the initial sales have dropped off. Throw in Xenons, LED Rears, Winter Pack, ACC, KESSY and you have a good model up from the Elegance

I'd want xenons, led rear lights and panoramic roof as standard as well as climate front seats (so heated AND cooled) as well as nav and canton. That would make a great L&K spec in my eyes :) Heated rear seats, tints and a unique alloy design would be the cherry on top!

No 1.8 tsi 4x4 l&k??? ;) ;) (couldn't resist asking) :P

Got to ask..... L&K?

From Wikipedia:

Laurin & Klement (1895–1925) was a bicycle, motorcycle and automobile manufacturer in Mladá Boleslav, Bohemia, at the time also known in German as Jungbunzlau, and a part of Austria-Hungary (Present Czech Republic).

The company was founded in 1895, and named after founders: Václav Laurin (born 27 September 1865, died 4 December 1930), and Václav Klement (born 16 October 1868, died 13 August 1938).

Car production commenced in 1905, and the company soon became the largest car manufacturer in Austria-Hungary. In 1925 the company was acquired by the Škoda Works, and operated henceforth under the brand Škoda Auto (Škoda).

Nowadays, so far as I can understand, it's a fully loaded version of a car released part way through it's model life. It's not sporty like the vRS, it's the epitome of luxury it seems. ;)

They would have to first fix the currently broken option lists in ordering system. Several months after launch and we still don't fully know what exactly full range of options is. At the moment you can't order winter packs on some models (for no reason) but if you know quirks of the system well enough apparently you can order all the parts of winter pack separately. Plus let's not forget options mysteriously not available on UK cars (like interior LED lighting for example).

The list of yeti upgrades on an Octavia would make for a nice car.

No, that IS how they would fix the options system - offer an L&K with everything thrown at it, and no need for options!

I shudder to think what it would cost though......the Elegance 2.0 TDI DSG is £24,500 with no options. £28,000 for an L&K?!

It's a £2k premium on the Yeti over the elegance. No reason it shouldn't be the same

yeah I can't see it being  3.5K, it would literally need to have every single option for that to be any sort of deal.

It'll be interesting to see what they do.

If they follow tradition and have Bi Xenons and leather as standard on the L&K then £2k more is pretty good value.

I asked the question of Skoda and was told that yes, there are plans for a Mk3 L&K but there's no time frame that they could give me.

For me, no point putting in the cheap leather like was fitted to my Superb Elegance, my Octy III Alcantara seats are much nicer imo, but when I recently sat in Oliver Hortons Superb II L&K, I was impressed by the soft ventilated leather, so if they spec an Octy III L&K it has to be ventilated leather, Columbus, xenons, led rears, park assist, acc, winter pack, metallic paint, 18" alloys and 4x4 but leave the sunroof, dsg and KESSY on the options list but how about offering the Superb V6 lump under the bonnet?

Couldmt offer the v6 lump as vrs sales would be drasticly afected. Haha. But the might as well make a v6 tsi 4x4 vrs while theyre at it.

No chance at all of different engines - it'll just be a load of optional kit adding to the Elegance.

Yep if anything will be existing Elegance spec with a few choice options and badging, nothing out of the ordinary.

i dont think we'll ever see the 1.8TSi 2wd or 4wd in the UK myself; I think SUK have decided to widen the gap between normal and vRS Octavias to bolster sales of the vRS. In any case the 1.4 TSi 140 isnt lightyears slower than the old 1.8 TSi 160 and generates nearly the same torque output.

..and is lighter. :)

... but is considerably slower than the new 1.8TSI, belt driven, worse for weight hauling and towing, comes with last century torsion bar at the back across the range, and most importantly WTF does SUK think they are to tell me what factory product I will or will not drive?

Lol! SUK are probably wonder who the hell are you tell them what cars to build!

I see no reason why they wouldn't do an L&K.

They have afterall done an L&K version of most their cars since the Felicia.

As above though... won't be any new engine or drivetrain options just one trim level with a couple of diesel and petrol options.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

They don't build them at SUK. Skoda in Mlada Boleslav does. Plus they don't do it as favour, we pay for it.

It's kind of ridiculous that even after new ranges were rolled out someone who doesn't want vRS can buy faster town car Yeti than motorway cruiser Octavia (2.0 TDI CR 170PS man/DSG 4X4 and 1.8 TSI 160PS man/DSG 4x4, both engines not available in Octavia range)?
