Hi, I'm david I'm 17 (18 on the 10th of this month and have just got an 11 reg Fabia on Saturday after having a Peugeot 206 for the last 7 months. Thought I'd come somewhere where the people know about the cars incase there is something I want to know or share etc. So far I'm really liking the car, it's a lot more solid than the 206 and goes better even though it has a smaller engine (1.2 as opposed to 1.4) which is probably down to this having a manual gearbox.

My family have bought cars from the VW Audi group for a long time, the last cars we've had were an Audi 80, a VW passat another audi 80, a Skoda Octavia and Fabia (dads Octavia and mums Fabia) and most recently my dad has a VW Jetta and now my Fabia too. So we know that VW cars are reliable for the most part and they are built to last (the second audi 80 didn't have any bodywork damage and was on an M) Basically we bought the Peugeot from a friend because we knew what had been done to it and it was cheap although it had an automatic gearbox in it we didn't see this as an issue at the time.

That was a decision I regret now though to be honest but hey, what's done's done.

7 months later we go to the dealership to have a look round and see what cars they have in thinking we''d come back when I've been driving a year and maybe buy one, we just had a quick look round and out of interest we took the reg of one that looked fairly cheap to see what the insurance was for it. I had a look and found that the insurance would only cost a third of what it did for the Peugeot so we decided to take it for a test drive, they offered me only £200 less for the car than what I paid for it which wasn't bad and we decided to go for it. So that's how I ended up with the car and that's how I ended up here. Hope this wasn't too long and for all of you that are still awake, hello, and thanks.
