Not sure where to get a stage two remap done?

Featured Replies

Hello!

It's come to that time where I'm looking at where to get my remap done for the hybrid turbo, fmic etc I've done on the car.

Where do people recommend and what price did you pay?

Rs tuning have quoted me £415 just now.

Shark performance said £500

I know it's such a personal choice but I'd love to know what people think, and who are considered 'the best'

Ideally looking at spending £350 ish but willing to pay more if people think it's worth it.

Thanks!

Somewhere reputable, not many places have a better reputation that Shark Performance. Where abouts in the country are you?

I use a richard washbrook/motech remap via unit 18. I think it was about £300 but they are regarded as being very good. You can obviously ask for the car to be mapped how you want, I went for a nice smooth map, lovely to drive.

Thanks so far.

I'm in leeds but willing to travel I suppose

I'll ask unit 18 what they can offer cheers.

Anyone else? :)

Washbrook is supposed to be good for the money.

But get fabooka do to it for you, he is the only guy i would trust on here (he;s done loads of cars on here) and he's knows what he's doing. Chances are the map he will do will be 95% good, you take it for a rolling road whilst having logs done and he'll tweak it - he's a lot cheaper than £300 thats for sure.

Dirty Torque for the map!

Have you got an uprated clutch?

Yer dirty torque are the boys and cheaper than your other qoutes. They done my hybrid for me, still waiting on stage 2 map but have been in a few of there stage 2 hybrid mapped cars and gtb turbo and mapped cars and are very good.

Also Ant at AP Automotive Telford

Edit, if your in Leeds you could Give Darkside Developments in Barnsley a shout. They don't just do bonkers turbo kits, they do a lot of stage 1 and 2 maps.

Ive used RS Tuning they do a good a map but they are a tad on the expensive side..

For me it would be either Shark or R-Tech

Depends what kind of map your looking for tbh. I'd ask them all for print outs of previous hybrid vrs stage 2 maps they have done if it was me to get a idea of what they can offer

Try shark performance they get really good reviews on here

Thanks for everyone's input!

Great to see a few more companies.

I'm not really sold on faboka without having a rolling road on the day etc. For a stage one I'd be happy with it but for something that requires a lot of fine tuning I think I'd prefer to have it on the dyno.

I'll drop darkside a message too

My stage 2 map cost me £100 lol, that's because he already had my old map on his computer and only required a tweak mind, will be costing me £50 next time to up the boost and intercooler into the map.

Don't get hung up on the need of a dyno, I much prefer the way of mapping where it's done on the road in every day conditions rather than a dyno :)

Contact Dirty Torque, they are great lads to know! Dean has become more of a friend than a bloke at a garage who does work on my car :)

I vote Faboka

Another vote for Faboka how car acts on the road is more important than a bit of paper from a dymo many dymos are not 100% accurate.

Dan if you wanna try a darkside mapped car you can a poke around my car whenever. Im only at goole

That's a good price.

I paid £300 for a custom hybrid map on mine from Dirty Torque, it's £350 for mapping on a GTB kit. Also getting it adjusted FOC soon once the Helix is bedded in.

As above, don't get hung up on dyno mapping.on the road live mapping is much better. :)

Darkside developments is good. Got a custom map on pd150 turbo there with fmic fitted. 188bhp 320lb ft torque

Excellent customer service explained everything fully and told me numerous options for my car didn't push products on me etc.
