Ignition Barrel 'ACC' location

Featured Replies

Hi All, i'm new to the world of Skoda and have recently purchased a Felicia to teach the wife to drive.

I have been fitting an alarm to the car and have run into a little problem wiring it up to the ignition switch.

I need to run one wire to the ACC (position 0), and a wire to ignition live (position 1).

Have found the switched live (Position 1) to be the yellow wire but cannot find the ACC position wire, it seems to be live without the key in.

Is this common on the Felicia, i notice the radio (aftermarket) and cig lighter are live all the time (normally these come on with the acc switched position on most cars)

Any help would be appreciated as the alarm will not disarm if the the key is not turned to acc within 15 seconds.

Photo's would help even more.

Does the acc input only need to come on momentarily to deactivate the alarm or does it need to be on all the time?

what make and model is the alarm?

is there an instruction manual or wiring diagram?

Yes, it says to connect the wire to the ACC connection on the ignition switch.

thing is that is technically the same thing as a switched live, so potentially you could just wire them both to terminal 15 on the ignition switch

i think the other wire that goes to the switched live is for the immobilizer built into the alarm though, am i right in thinking the felicia does not have its own immobilizer ?

no all uk spec felicia's have a transponder immobilizer fitted as standard except for a very few small number built in 1995, it has a chip inside the key which is read by a passive coil around the ignition barrel

might go and give it a try without the alarms own immobilizer then.

then i need to go a rip the trim off to connect up to the drivers door switch (might fix the boot release catch while i'm at it)

if you pull the triangle shape plastic panel at the base of the a pillar on the passenger side you can access the door switch wires there, they are on a 2 pin connector, i cant remember wich colour does what off the top of my head but if you use the search function on here you will find it

edit; red 2 pin connector

Judging by the price of that no-name 'alarm', I guess the manual is fairly short. Why don't you scan it and put it online? You'll get the best advice from us. Fast.

One thing is for sure: there is no contact for ACCessories (or AUXiliary) on Felicia.

"Professional fitting required." :) That blew me away. Probably they're talking about a Chinese mechanic.

On second thought, there might be a chance, but I didn't test it (see photo below). I marked in red the ACC contacts on wiring. They appear to be unconnected. But looking at the actual ign. key cover, we see there are two more riveted contacts (red circles). There is a chance one of them is the missing ACC contact. Soldering a wire on it should be fairly easy, the rivets appear to be made of brass. If TeflonTom has an ignition key lying around, maybe he can hook an ohmmeter to it and let us know.

Well, so much for buying the alarm kit with the central locking, found mine has central locking (which wasn't working), it keeps blowing the 15A fuse. Have put a 20A fuse in and its working ok, will look into whats causing it at a later date.

Thank you all for the help so far, i will upload a picture of the instructions (for you all to have a laugh at) the Chinglish instructions are awful, i just need a little bit of further guidance to what connections to connect the new alarm to the existing central locking.

thats a good point that, i wonder if those are the missing acc position, i've never thought of checking that before, i'll see if i can find a key and barrel spare to have a check

The actuators and locking linkages need a careful oiling/greasing because they are prone to rust rather quickly inside the doors.

Use acc wire with the switched live my alarm remote start one works fine useing switched live as acc most alarms these days run the same set up as for you c\l is it the oem.

Oem if so it uses negative trigger chart two and the wires are yellow and black on c\l relay

I can tell you where the wires are on the car if thats any help to you......

I was going to connect to that switched live as a last resort if there was no reply,

just looking forward to the fun an games of connecting the central locking up, i'm not going to bother with the alarms immobilizer function (the having to press the brake pedal would get annoying)

i was thinking it was picture 4 though on the locking diagram wiring

would be handy to know where those wires are without ripping the door panel off again, the alarm module is located under the glove compartment just above the fuse box so if you can point me to the correct c/l wires in that area it would make life so much easier, also could do with finding the negative door wire in the same area

There is a plug near radio on car there is two wires yellow and a black thats the lock and unlock wires use chart 2 for the c/l and it should work what year is the felicia

After looking over the 'manual' it is my opinion you can connect the white ACC wire to any fused 12V live wire, for instance you can make a split on positive wire going to car lighter. The only practical use of ACC wire is to unlock automatically the doors in case the alarm unit goes byebye.

I have compiled for you the wiring of central locking to disconnect easier the actuators from existing central locking and attach to your new alarm.
