Featured Replies

Thanks very much :-)

I love my job and all the people I get to meet but it's hard work, just glad we have a fantastic product to sell even if the they don't always get the information to us properly

Working in a dealer, it's the worst phone call we have to make when an option is removed or restricted. Working for between £8000-£12000 basic salary depending where you live and company, and working 6 days a week, that one order that is now in jeopardy is the difference between paying the electric or not. All I'm saying is, going into the showroom demanding things doesn't always work, it's not the sales persons fault that this has happened, there's still only the same margin in the car etc.....trust me, if we could go and build it for you sometimes we would.....us lowly sales don't get paid until you have your car.....a cancellation through nothing you can do is a horrible feeling and all the effort we put in with test drives, going through all the specifications on umpteen cars etc has all been in vain. Until the car is at the dealership, it's completely out of our control and these alterations in specification and delays is just as frustrating for us as they are for you. Just wanted to give you a different perspective. Ta

Yes I totally agree with you I have no problem with the dealership or my salesman he's the bloke stuck in the middle. and like I said in the letter to Skoda UK it shouldn't be up to the dealer to sort their problems out.

And when your dealer actually says 'Being on Briskoda you probably knew more/before me'.

Go figure, if Briskoda is considered to be such a great source of information it should be compulsory reading! :)

Just to play devils advocate here, you are complaining about building what is essentially a complex machine with lots of options yet you yourself cannot string a sentence together or write decent English! If I'd received the letter, as a customer service agent, I would find it difficult to take you seriously, spending that sort of money or not!

If it wasn't the letter you wrote please do the members the courtesy of putting the correct one on the forum.

My rant over -sorry!

Thanks for kicking me when i'm down, perhaps when I phone SUK on Monday I might get my words mixed up too but i'm sure they will get the gist of my frustrations!!

I ordered from the local dealer was treated with respect but now after so long it's depressing

The salesman has left the new one hasn't even phoned me to introduce him/herself the dealer took 2 weeks to pay new for px !i had to make another payment ,they have given us a fabia to drive round in so we are not car less

But no one has ever called me to explain why my car has been delayed I found out from here so thanks skoda and thanks to the dealer for nowt.

Panmat, that wasn't the intension!

As a previous poster said, going into the Dealer with attitude gets you nowhere.

Writing a letter about poor standards that itself is poor is just the same!

Best of luck on Monday - oh and I'm waiting on a delivery of a Vrs as well.

This is what annoys me about sales. I would never dream of not letting my customers know what's happening with their new car order whether good news or bad and generally most of us are like that. It's always the minority that are giving us sales people a bad reputation....frustrates me so much.

As for the part exchange situation, due to any delays in the build, we are standing on the part exchange as they were agreed at point of sale. As my manager says, it's through no fault of the customers so we have to stand on our valuations. I suppose in that respect, that's where we are compensating the customer rather than insisting that you hand your part exchange over and leave someone in a position without a suitable vehicle or reprice the part exchange due an month or two on the leadtime.

No probs, all comments are welcome, perhaps some which you don't like hear but none the less very constructive. Thanks

Bear in mind these things aren't restricted to Skoda.

A guy I work with ordered an Astra GTC Bi-Turbo 3 door in January, it had been reviewed by What Car? and came out smelling of roses.  He'd even negotiated to get it for about £3k off of showroom price.

In April his dealer contacted him to say, without warning, Vauxhall had withdrawn the 3 door from manufacture completely and all the pre-orders were cancelled........so how What car? managed to test drive one is a mystery.

Thats what my salesman said and he or his manager were going to approach Skoda to see the way forward from this situation, also to point out that he more or less straight away offered to let me have my deposit back and end the contract! which thinking about it puts me in quite a unique position where I have a car that is not depreciating and getting a newer car (14 plate) which I didn't expect....

Is there any need for these kinds of comments. This I consider to be bullying

Excuse me, but if I write a letter of complaint to someone or company, I do my utmost to keep things clear & concise and I will do my utmost to ensure that it is grammatically correct and all the words are spelt correctly.

This is something that goes a long way to getting your points & complaint across and ensures you come to a clear understanding. I feel that correct spelling is extremely important and shows politeness too.

The danger with posting something like this

...yet you yourself cannot string a sentence together or write decent English!

is that you then post something like this

Panmat, that wasn't the intension!

The original point, whilst a little undiplomatically expressed IMO was valid - many people take more notice of a letter of complaint if it isn't littered with typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical hee-haws. Whether that is a reasonable  or acceptable approach is perhaps a separate debate, but it is something of a fact of life one is better off dealing with rather than ignoring. (Again, IMO).

Hopefully banksie's subsequent "own goal" (along with his explanation) relieves the tension a little and reminds us that none of us are perfect. (But that most of us are better than the SUK ordering and delivery system) ;)

Can't agree more, I felt that this topic was moving away from my original intentions and more into an English lesson and in so doing taking away the emphasis on SUK or even Skoda International not being able to provide us with their products......

And to carry on about Skoda being so "out of order" take the elegance which did come with Front Assist as standard if you look at the configurator now it is a "No cost option" surely this should reflect on the OTR price being reduced by £300. I could go on.....vRS omitting Lane assist.......soooo frustrating

Not really. The first Mk3 Octavias didn't have front assist - it was always advertised as being a later addition and the price stayed the same once it was available.

Too much on spelling an grammar rather than discussion and helping each other.

I remember when it didn't matter

Exactly. This is why I waited until June to order mine.

Reading some of the posts made me smile........

I ordered a VRS Hatch in August 2013.  Build week 44,  no meant to say 46, whoops 48, sorry my bad week 50!! Still code 10 Mr dunbar no build week confirmed. What about an estate??  No thanks!!

Its simple gramatical manc accent from me.  I make no apologies nor should I.  Ranting and raving deffinately will get me nowt (nothing).  Writing a letter would go someway to appease my current frustration, however feel that this route actually - still would not change a single thing.   Skoda need to seriously take a look at the current dis-sasatisfaction levied against them and choose whether they continue to P@@S the majority of their customers off.  Change nothing...nothing changes.  There are some that could end up with ordering a new vehicle in 2013 and not having it until late to mid 2014 - some 10 - 12 months after the launch date.  Common skoda you dont need a PHD in Customer Satisfaction to realize that this is a Monumuntal own goal on your part.

See my post about Vauxhall and their GTC 3 door Bi-Turbo that they withdrew completely from catalogues before a single one had made it into showrooms.

Even my local Vospers Ford dealer laughs every time he sees me in the pub

I see spelling correctly & being grammatically correct, as one of the best forms of internet etiquette going, no block capitals, unless you wish to start a sentence or enforce a point.

Paragraphing & pagination aids legibility and makes for a nice clear and easy on the eye read, whereas some people just type a endless block of text which is hard on the eye and hard to read.

Tbh this is often an issue with the forum software, typically via mobile skin or Tapatalk rather than the poster.

There are quite often posts about formatting in site issues.
