Letter to Skoda DISGUSTED

Featured Replies

Good option.  By the time people's Octavia's start arriving, you'll have been driving yours for a while and will have taken it back to be fixed 3 times too :p

Not as if VAG have been exactly reliable for me..

Scirocco - 8 or 9 times in the dealers over 2 years - twice for almost a month.  I'm not counting the times it went back in the same day as the fault reappeared within 20 miles.

Fabia - engine expired at 22k.

Shame Alfa Romeo aren't on my list...apparently they're pretty reliable these days?  Or is that reliable compared to a Golf?

  • Working in a dealer, it's the worst phone call we have to make when an option is removed or restricted. Working for between £8000-£12000 basic salary depending where you live and company, and working

  • You'd get my business any day of the week, it's a shame you aren't closer.   These outfits need supporting and preserving. The rest can stick their modern art decor and free wi-fi.   Give me a mec

  • Was that the letter you actually sent? Just to play devils advocate here, you are complaining about building what is essentially a complex machine with lots of options yet you yourself cannot string

Patience is a virtue. At one point when the Citroen 2cv was in production the waiting time for new orders was 3 years due to colossal demand, in those days for that reason a second hand one was more expensive than a new one if you could defund one...

persoanlly I wouldn't care if they didled me out of a sunroof or heated seats, it's only a machine after all, but for 30k worth of car you'd expect it to have gold plated wheels or something.

build times are quite high on Volvo cars at the moment too, but vauxhall quite frankly are desperate to sell thiers they can't even give them away.

My Bravo had DPF issues at first, but since that was sorted it's needed nothing but scheduled maintenance, and it has never left me stranded unlike my two Octavias.

The simple fact is that there are no universally bad manufacturers any more. There's a lot of good cars and a few problem ones with every marque these days, and even the different percentages don't vary that much.

My MiTo has been excellent, but it has depreciated like a stone (as expected). Heater knob fell off, cylinder heads and rear shocks found to be leaking on first service.

Alfa have fixed parts under warranty and I have been extremely happy with mine. Would I recommend one? Would I ****!

I can't say delays on a new car are unique to Skoda - I've suffered this before. I'd rather a manufacturer slowed release dates to get the car right as opposed to chucking out mass-produced cars which will later suffer problems.

On the early MiTos, Alfa mixed the paint too thin. Cue a lot of very happy owners when their pride and joy looked like it had had a fight with a sandblasted.....

I bet if Skoda were honest about it their order backlog is huge and they'll tell customers anything at this point to keep their order on the books.

When I placed my order the dealer said he had at least 20 of these on his order book.

And that's just one dealer.

How many Skoda UK dealerships are there?

If you go to drivethedeal or autoebid you can get 15% off of the list price of a top of the range Sportiva......Alfa residuals are always going to be p1$$p00r when they're massively overpriced to start with.

I am in shock 3 weeks ago car delayed suk said ,they said dealer would call but after 3weeks no phone call I went to see dealer

Today dealer says at port awaiting ferry ! Don't know if to believe him
