best front pads

Featured Replies

I have a 312mm set up on my SE and need to change the front pads - what would be the recommended pad to buy - and yes I do drive it hard and require it to stop when asked !!

thanks

Don't be tempted by Brembo. I have some on mine... they're a bit poo. Especially when cold.

I think Ferodo DS2500 are about as good as you can get, loads of people rate them very highly

General advice always seems to be Ferodo DS2500;

but there are issues with actually finding some, them being super expensive and not strictly road legal

I had Unit 18 fit Brembo pads and Pagid discs when my 312s needed refreshing last summer.

Have never found them wanting; even when hammering around Oulton Park.

Ferodo ds2500! I had a go in my mates clio 197 with these pads and oh my are they responsive and brilliant.

I'd definitely invest in some when my 312 discs an pads need doing.

There are plenty of threads about what pads and/or discs to buy. I would recommend Mintex, Ferodo or EBC.

I would advise against DS2500 as mentioned above they are not technically road legal. Have a read of this thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=12777.0 This is the Brisky thread that they were discussing. http://www.briskoda....-day-only-pads/ I believe it does say on the box "Disc pads for Race use only".

just remember the brembos on a Clio do half the job lol

DS2500's for harder use, genuine ones for normal use.

Pagid disks and pads (with good brake fluid) held up fine around the ring.
