Why i love my VRS

Featured Replies

Well i'm just back yesterday from a little holiday with me, the girlfriend and our 5 year old son and i'm so chuffed with my vrs it's unreal. I went Glasgow - Alton towers - Harlow (essex) - Blackpool - Glasgow. Along with some driving such as 25 miles between our hotel and the themepark at Alton towers and general pottering about my 2.0cr done all this on only 2 tanks. The satnav was flawless, boot swallowed our luggage with ease and could probably easily hold the same again, seats were comfy and the soundsytem made it a treat. I've had the car for a year now and just keep enjoying it more   Also popped down to manchester the weekend before and it done fabulous on that aswell. I'm only 22 so it's the first time i've ever really done long driving as such so i'm glad i got the right car!

I'm having a little crisis now though as the car needs washed and valeted inside and those of you who have saw my other threads know i like a clean car but....its raining outside  :rain:   Its not been done since before the manchester trip!

I had a black vRS & I'm quite familiar with the current look of your car!

Maybe you should keep it that way, tidy up the interior & keep the lights clean, but leave it in it's natural state....

Makes for an inconspicuous car, quite handy when you don't want to be noticed.....

I enjoyed my "black cab", especially on red mist days!

Tinted rear lights?

It does need a good scrub. Black is a nightmare to keep clean I make a point of washing mine down once a week in winter to avoid that horrible white wash look from the grub on the road.

Looks lowered too, unless it's the camera angle ?

I know your pain on not being clean. Ive just been out now cleaning mine while it isnt raining. It was filthy, hopefully yours is sparkly soon.

Still looks nice mate

Did you have the wheels sprayed? ?

Did you have the wheels sprayed? ?

No they're just filthy !

Looks great, but I'm not a big fan of the exhaust tip. What exhaust is it?

Cheers guys, hopefully it's dry tomorrow :( the cars lowered and the wheels are powdered gunmetal grey, it's a custom rear section for the exhaust with a backbone delete. Like the look much more than the original, don't know why but I never liked the slash cut look for some reason

*backbox lol

What tint on the lights? Looks much better wouldn't mind doing this to my car.

It's just a spray, a friend of mine applied it for me. But only one or two coats so its not to dark as I hate that look with a passion!

You popped to Harlow then?............ Not many VRS's here, so no doubt you made a few people envious as you got to wherever you were going....

ha ha looks like mine, low, gunmetal rims, filthy dirty!

:)

Don't remember seeing any whilst down that way actually, was only there 2 nights visiting some family though so wasn't around long. Not the most lowered car friendly place i've ever visited LOL

Cheers Allan :) not saw you about recently tho?

Washed the car last night finally as was a lovely day. Woke up today....pouring of rain! F.O.

Car looks very similar to mine (mine petrol though) although with a 3 year old AND a 5 year old mine is a little more messy inside.

I have to comment on the booster seat though, get something with some side head protection and seatbelt guidance, they aren't expensive;

http://www.which.co.uk/baby-and-child/baby-transport/guides/choosing-a-child-car-seat/the-best-child-car-seats-for-children/

"Don't Buy a booster cushion

We actively discourage parents from using a booster cushion for their older children.

Booster cushions raise children up correctly, but most have have no way of keeping the shoulder strap of a three-point adult seat belt in the right place on a child and provide no side-impact protection.

We don't test booster cushions because we know that they would all qualify as Don't Buys."

Yeah last time I saw you I was going to braehead lol then been away on holiday and busy at work, ain't really used the car much recently :-(. Gotta get mine cleaned and then put my brothers in for repair :-(

Looks lowered too, unless it's the camera angle ?

how does it handle with it being lowered?

Cheers oft the advice sponge, I actually have a recaro child seat I usually use the booster just gets kept in my car as the wee man rarely travels in mines.

Ye Allan was just in Renfrew last time I saw you :)

Car handles not to badly but I rarely push it as I'm not that fast a driver so couldn't give a fair review. Tbh I really need to put a proper decent set of tyres on, rears are coming up for replacement anyway and fronts are budgets as I popped a conti at a terrible time financially and could only go for budgets :(

That backbox looks awesome! What size is the tip? I'm looking for the same design on mine.

  • Author

It's a custom meercat backbox delete mate, no idea on tip but lll measure it some day for you if u wish. Fits spot on in the original gap so its roughly that size

Cheers bud. I'm roughly estimating a 6 x 4 or 5 x 3 oval will fit the gap. If you could measure and let me know that will br awesome.
