Anyone getting random calls from Windows team?

Featured Replies

Tell them your firewall is blocking them and you need their public IP address.

Laugh, hang-up, then post it here.

I'll pass it to some 'people' I know

Cue Evil Laugh!

I get a lot of these - funny really when I work in PC support. I usually string them along for a while - OK I will open windows, can I close it now as its cold outside etc. Or just say yes I have done that when I have not even got my PC on, that can be quite funny as they struggle to connect to a non-existent PC

I did hear a story about one guy who worked for a well known antivirus house who renamed some nasties he was working on as passwords.doc and banking.doc on a test PC and then let them have access to it. He laughed as he saw them copying his files

My elderly Dad had a long conversation with one of these Indian sounding scam guys and unfortunately my Dad didn't understand what he was going one about. Even more unfortunately for the chap at the far end was my Dad didn't own a computer. :D

wind them up = great sport!

These are just real-time variations of Nigerian email scams.
