So you have one of (if not the best) tuners on your doorstep yet you are still looking at other tuners?

You certainly will not beat Shark for their customer services.

I would like to go in one which has been done so I have an idea on the difference

I've been through quite a few maps on my car (came with AmD, then had Richard Washbrook). All of my more recent tweaking has been done with Bobby's help and my experience with him is just fantastic. Yes, it helps being a good friend, but IMO, attention to detail, understanding and customer service post-sales are the most important features, more so than the actual "how much power on this map".

As others have already pointed out, having the expertise willing to help before, during and after hold more value to me than the cost of the map. The closer they are to you geographically, the better as well as you can easily pop in and ask questions - and it's easier to hassle them if things don't end up to your satisfaction! ;)

If you're close to Shark, then I'd go with them as they have great experience, great customer satisfaction particularly on Briskoda and are close to where you live. Win-win-win in my book :D

Who is Bobby? What company does he own?

Bobby Singh on briskoda. I actually met him through work (we worked together on a broadcast-related project) and found out he was seriously into car tuning, one of the first to break the 300HP in a TDI, etc. And after speaking of my projects for bigger power in the fabia, he was interested to have another project as well so we did it together :) He posts a lot on ukmkivs I think as well

+1 Richard Washbrook at Oscarli

I never used Shark directly due to distance so I used Brotek who is a Shark agent, never again. Will probably use Ecotune or Darkside next time.

What happened with brotek?

I use my octavia vrs petrol as a taxi, been thinking about a remap,is it worth it,its quick enough when I need it to be,and not sure what to expect, will it impact on servicing, what problems could I encounter as my mileage is around 40k a year, also will oil consumption increase,I posted this question yesterday,im using a litre almost every week,750 miles plus, depending how busy I am,last thing I need is to be splashing out on more oil

Admittedly I cant help with the oil questions as mine is a diesel. But I've had a shark map for 130,000 miles now, really changed how the PD105 engine ran, and I've never had wear or failures on the engine since either. Still on the original Turbo and DMF (well, the DMF fitted 6 months before the map). I found the map gave not only more power, but a wider power band for drive-ability, economy is good if you drive it right too.
