October 2013 brochure

Featured Replies

See SUK have released a new brochure and the options list has shrunk. Gone have Denom wheels, ACC, Front Assist and Lane Assist.

Oh they still haven't added the RRP or fold down front seat, both of which are on the ByO.

Is it me or has Front Assist been removed as Standard equipment on the Elegance too? The only mention of it at all is a bullet point on page 14..... its nowhere in the spec list???

Yet nearly every photo has the Front Assist/ACC radar pod?

Yep - it is no longer available as of 4th October I think.

Hmmm, that's not good.

The brochure I got from the dealer at the time of placing the order shows front assist as standard spec.

I shall be making a call in the morning.

My dealer told me that they had been advised early October that any new orders for Elegance would be supplied without Front Assist, and it was removed from the options list on all other models, along with ACC and Lane Assist.

I decided if I couldn't factory order a car to the spec I wanted I may as well take an ex-demo with the low rate finance and free servicing, and save myself a fair wedge of cash. Couldn't justify waiting 12 weeks for a car that would have cost me a fair bit more a month and wasn't the spec I actually wanted.

I don't have Front Assist as mine is an early model before it became standard for a few months.

When did you order?

At the weekend.

Who from?

I'll wait till I've spoken to them in the morning before naming them here.

Does anyone know how many versions of the brochure there have been now?

March, August and October?

There may have been a May one as well as the handbook changed in May as well.

Can't comment on whether there was one in May but there was definitely one in June. I have a copy if you need some info from it.

If you look at page 24, the front armrest has been deleted from the vRS. It was there in the August 2013 edition.

I am picking mine up next week so it better be there!

Likewise. Mine's been built this week. Was in the brochure when ordered. Better be there....

Have just sent SUK a query asking them about it. Will update here with response...

Thats really annoying, there are a few things which are crucial when I order a new car, they are heated seats, cruise control and drivers armrest, those items are essential, they either have to come with the car or be available as an option on cars I order, my vRS was ordered in September, and no build date currently, so it should come with the armrest and I have ticked the options for heated seats and cruise, so this is really starting to annoy me now, you order a car with one specification, and then through brochure releases you learn that you are entering into a lottery with Skoda as to what will actually turn up on the car!

Its a joke!

£28K on a car and you don't even know what its coming with as standard.... they remove stuff yet down reduce the price accordingly do they.....!

Also the Front radar on page 14 is the old dome one - vehicles up to 27/05/2013.

The other pics are the new flat radar.

On page 17 it states that Driving Mode Selection is standard on SE and also that Performance Mode Selection has been further enhanced. When vRS mode is selected....

But we all know there isn't a vRS mode. It's just mode.

There's probably more errors in there as well.

It's just really poor administration.

I won't worry too much - this was exactly the same in the previous brochure. Factory options shows that the front armrest isn't available but on page nine it states in small print at the bottom that front (and rear) armrests are standard on elegance and vRS models and the vRS model page has an armrest in the interior picture.

So to confirm, everyone is currently getting armrest's on their VRs so far? Going to sound crazy, but it's a bit of a deal breaker with the mileage I have to do if there isn't one!

Not so sure on the vRS armrest as it's gone from both page 24 and the options page 28, where it indicates like the S trim it's not available  :wonder:

The photo also states not UK spec.

Haven't ordered the armrest myself for our SE but bizarrely in the Czech it's standard, although other kit we get is optional.

Edit: just tried to look at the ByO and the vRS is not working for me but the other trim levels are :wonder:

Like I said - it wasn't on the options list or the model spec list on the previous brochure either!

It's only mentioned in the small print on page 9. Besides, why would it get a standard rear arm rest and not a front one?

Just had a re-look at the August brochure and it's listed as standard on P9 (as above) and P24 but optional on P28 :wonder:

Don't they have a proof reader down at Milton Keynes

Oh and while I'm nit picking P6 shows a large photo with an xenon light system we don't get in the UK (without LED) :giggle:

I've just spoken to both Skoda CS and my local dealer.
Skoda say that all dealers were notified a month ago that Front Assist is gone completely and there's no date for it's return - my car won't get it at all and that all customers affected by this should have been notified.

The business manager at the dealer said that this was news to them. He was under the impression that it had been dropped as an option along with adaptive cruise but it should still come as standard on the Elegance.
He also confirmed that they don't have any October brochures - just the August ones which are what I used to make my decision.

I've asked him to go away and get a definitive answer if there's any way my car will have it, and if not to let me know what they propose to do.

There was an article similar to this in auto express a few weeks back. It involved the Sear Leon and a car was delivered not to the spec listed in the brochure at the time of order for that version.

The article basically said that the purchaser hasn't got a leg to stand on as the brochure had the relevant disclaimers in the small print at the rear.

Andy

Yep - specifications subject to change, E&OE etc.

Unless the spec is itemised on the order form piece by piece you don't have a leg to stand on, all you can do is cancel!

What about options that have been paid for that are no longer available?

I guess I'm hoping the VRS I ordered before that bulletein was issued still has an armrest, lane assist etc!

Just off the phone to SUK.

The vRS will have the front armrest the brochure is wrong.

As for lane assist he said the vRS will still come with that but they dropped the front assist as an option on the 4th of October
