I have found a website of places to stay, the site is in german but its obvious what the room rates are. The site shows Hotels, B&B's and other accomodation which I believe are all in Nurburg itself although I am not sure where some of them are, I know most of them.

Ok folks, its gone very quiet. its quiet close to the trip now, so perhaps to late to organise something as a group especially as I am on holiday for 2 weeks starting saturday.

I am definatly going over, and have already booked my return ferry trip. What I would suggest is everyone who wants to go then book their ferry crossings and your own accomodation using the link above as a source for hotels/B&B's otherwise you may find you have knowhere to stay. Nurburg is a small town, so any of the hotels that are in Nurburg itself should be withing walking distance of the bars and restaurants.

It may also be a good idea if you post here, so we know who to lookout for when we get there.

 So why did everyone put their name down on a list then, or have I missed something?

I'm going, just been tracking not posting ;)

Im going too. I'd best get booking stuff then.

Anyone got any suggestions for hotels. Looked on the site, but my language skills don't stretch that far. Just broken English.

A Briskoda convoy to Dover would be cool

No, not missed anything. Just that to sort anything now, at what has become short notice is going to be difficult. Me and Carsten still have no definate numbers, and this with just over 4 weeks to go. I am on holiday from the weekend for 2 weeks, so that would leave 2 weeks to book hotels etc. which is very difficult with a small town, as Alex found out and needed to book somewhere 20kms away last weekend.

As for places to stay, some on here have stayed at the following. They are all right bang in the middle of town except for the latter pension which is up a fairly big hill.

Hotels.

The Motorsport Hotel www.motorsporthotel.de

The Zur Burg http://www.nuerburgring-hotel.de/uk/

Pension

Jung-Stroof - Telephone only +49 (0) 2691 2489

The Dorint is fully booked for one of our nights so we cant stay there, that would have been ideal and not as expensive as you 1st think.

For ferry crossings, to calais seafrance are currently cheapest. P&O, Hoverspeed and eurotunnel are quoting silly prices. www.seafrance.com

Or, cheaper still are speedferries to boulogne www.speedferries.com , currently

No worries mate. Thanks for the info though. See ya there.

Ive booked my crossings with hoverspeed -

Hi @ all

I phoned a bit around to check the situation for accomodation and group price conditions.

Unfortunetally it doesn

Sorry, just wanted to "reanimate" the Thread :o

Carsten,

Spoke to Manny briefly just the other night, :D thumbs up sir for what you have done and the time you have spent upon it thus far.

I think this is a trip where those who can make it will make it. It's not hard to self organise, the dates are set when Manny is going. So we'll go to :D

Ferry is booked and hotel is reserved so I'm going :D

Now I have to find a learn German off ebay, as I suspect, bon matin, deux pain d'choclate svp won't get me very far once outside of calais.

See you all soon :D

you will all being well.

i'm all booked, but have a shadow hanging over due work at present.will beable to confirm 100% on the 8th of September.

i know thats very late notice etc but work is a pain!!!!
