Larger map sensor fitment?

Featured Replies

Hello.

I've finally gotten around to fitting my Airtech intercooler and nearly completed it however one little thing is holding me back!

I've tried to fit the MAP sensor but the pipe they have provided, the hole is too large and the map sensor simply falls in loosely. It isn't a tight fit like the old intercooler's hole.

I'm trying to ring the company to see if they've sent me the wrong pipe as you can see its way too big.

What i'm wondering is can I fit another MAP sensor from another VAG car which maybe has a wider diameter? Needing my car tomorrow and want it all done :(

Thank you.

Forge supply a insert for this issue ;)

Give them a ring if Airtec don't come good.

Might be Airtec have left it out,or perhaps they have not done there research properly on parts fitted.

Train to uni tomorrow ugh

Nowt wrong with a train!! ;)

Atleast not where I am sat............... :sun:

Adapters I've seen (42 draft designs at least) incorporate rubber O rings to ensure seal.

Nice B)

Will take a look at my forge one, got a feeling they are just a tight inteference fit.might add a smear of instant gasket around it. :)

This is so frustrating waiting for this part to come, i've got the bumper all on and ready to go just need a larger map sensor or this adapter, anyone know what car the larger map sensors come on so I can possibly go get one now?

MAP sensors have different ranges of sensing and different voltage regimes in signalling to the ECU. Plus the various plugs and wiring is likely to be different.

It's a PITA but patience is the key.
