No Maxidot? try this....

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I know I don't have a Maxidot on my Land Rover.

In fact nowt whatsoever. No information. Nothinng....

I really miss the info.

I'm sure many of you know about this, but for those that don't, look at this:

Scangaugue 2 just plugs into your OBD port and off you go. Just need to find somewhere to plug it in to.

Now I have even more info at my tips, including performance data, cost per trip etc. Much more flexible than my Maxidot in the Yeti ever was. And I can put it in any car than is OBD2 compliant.

No-brainer for me, and possibly for those who want the info from a Maxidot but don't want to have one retro fitted.

Looks like a great little gadget!

Very clever.  And green too to match the Landy.  Or is that a setting you can change?

Where, on the Yeti, is the OBD port and how difficult is it to get a cable from there to the dash?  I imagine it is quite a problem.

Lower right hand side of the dash under the wheel. Wouldnt be hard to run it behind trim up to the dash.

If you have a modern smart phone you can get the 'torque' app, along with an OBD2 bluetooth dongle (<15squids on the bay) and get this sort of info too. Unfortunately you'll probably crash paying too much attention to the dials while driving along... :P Can also be used to view codes/reset faults.

Yes, there are loads of colours you can choose from. I have one too, and use it in a car that has a maxidot as it gives me extra info. like engine load and temps, as well as being MUCH more accurate than the Maxidot for mpg data.

There is also a data logging mode for people who want to measure 0-60 mph times and the like.

They aren't cheap though, about £120 new.
