Felicia service intervals, oil types

Featured Replies

What is the service interval for a 1.9D Felicia and what grade of engine oil should be used?

I guess this could be turned into a thread for all Felicias with details on each engine, hence the open title.

I service mine every year regardless off miles as I do dive it hard.. 1.6mpi x2

uma, how deep do you dive it in a year ?

synthetic oils today can last up to 2 years and more than 10,000 km depending on brand.

I use German engine oil from Mannol with excellent results.

on their site you'll find exactly what type you need based on car, engine, and how much money you have.

every 10k miles for oil and filter changes is normal, or at least once per year, the petrol engined will go nicely on 10/40 semi synthetic, i normally purchase my oil from tps when they are on special offer, but you have to buy at least 20 litres to get a price break, from tps the cost of semi versus fully synthetic oil is negligable, the other thing i've found is that genuine skoda/vw oil filters are sometimes cheaper than factored parts too, circa £5 per filter

On my 1.9D, I always used Quantum Synta 10/40 semi synthetic. £48 for a 20 litre drum from the VW dealer.

I've been changing the oil and filter between 5,000 and 6,000 miles. It might seem a bit excessive, but I've had the car 11 years and she's just turned 202,000 miles this evening and still doesn't use any oil between services.
