Adventure 2.0 DSL 4x4 candy white

Featured Replies

Looking some advice was thinking about buying a (demo car) from a local dealer . My problem is I have had major surgery and can't drive for another six months . Do I buy now or wait six months and hope to get one and also hope to buy one a lot cheaper ? As I really like the look of this model as apposed to the f/l model.

Sorry to hear about the surgery. My advice would be to wait until you are in a position to use the car before buying for 3 main reasons:-

1) You will not suffer the depreciation of having a car sitting idle for 6 months.

2) There will always be an "ex demo" car somewhere when you are ready to drive.

3) Not wishing to be negative and not knowing your condition, there might be a chance that your 6 months gets extended for unforeseen circumstances.

Hang fire and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for that, it makes sense I think I will take your advice . Also if you had the choice would you go for the adventure or the elegance?

Depends on whether you ever drive after dark-the xenons  on the elegance are simply incomparable with the halogens. Or ever drive when it is a bit chilly-heated seats are wonderful.

BTW I agree wait-original yetis will become cheaper as the FL becomes available.

Not meaning to pry, but seing as you can't drive for such a long period of time, have you looked into your eligibility for motability?

EDIT: scrub that, the qualifying period appears to be 12 months now.

Thanks jcp ,Are the lights that bad?like the sound off the heated seats.and as you say I will wait until May next year and hopefully they will come down a bit in price , I will have see if I can see inside an elegance but the dealers over here don't seem to have any in their showrooms we only have two skoda dealers over here.

Thanks dcl5ad, I don't know if I would qualify for motability I had a brain tumor removed in June and my surgeon sayed I was to inform the dvla that I was unable to drive for 12 months and surrender my licence so I am almost half way there . But I will look into that never thought of that I will make enquiries.thanks gary

Probably not.

Does your condition affect your mobility?

If so, you would need to apply for PiP (the new name for DLA) and be awarded the higher rate mobility allowance for more the entire length of a 3 year Motability agreement.

Having said that I don't know if the process is different in Northern Ireland?

Good that you voluntarily surrendered your licence as it makes getting it back much simpler.

Just got mine back after 18 months after I did the same for medical reasons.

It's really hard not being able to drive for such a longt time, eh.

Good luck and a speedy recovery.
