Zeb's Octavia MK2 VRS - A few little tweeks here and there...

Featured Replies

It's been a while since I've been on this forum. Thought I share a few pics of my Skoda, I will be doing mods in the new year.

The only feature comes with the car is electric sunroof, I will be retrofitting a few things, cruise control, rear parking sensors, blue led interior lighting, Skoda satnav.

  • Probably going to be of limited interest TBH Zeb, mine's more go than show and won't ever get decked on 19s.

  • I get that 100%, I'm trying to make a comparison between the Passat OE fit you referenced and the Octavia OE fit. I've read through the thread and made several posts in it so I know what Zeb is try

  • Depends what size centre bore the Speedlines are.......whatever it is it needs to come down to 57.1 for the Octavia

Is that graph with a remap or standard?

  • Author

Graph with remap standard 170 bhp, you can't get 190+ bhp on a tdi VRS.

I did wonder. What made me think it was standard was most remaps tended to be 200bhp or just over.

Sorry I'm confused. Are you saying it makes 193bhp at standard, or after a remap? Too much power for standard and too little power for a remap. Mine's mapped at 211bhp.

  • Author

Standard was 170 bhp. It's been remapped to 193 bhp with dpf off. I'm happy with the remap, don't want to kill the turbo, and clutch. Turbo makes a loud whining noise as it is. When it blows then I will fit stage 2 hybrid turbo, with stage 2 remap.

It's the torque I am interested in not the BHP. Like I mentioned before the car lifts in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear with esp light flashing like crazy.

Will upload video soon...

Even more so with the dpf off it should be well more that 193. More like 220

Is the tyres that hold back the bhp, as front tyres are budget tyres. Will fit better branded tyres, then take it for another rolling road. Will also fit APR induction kit, and fit Milltek dpf pipe.

Mines got a k&n, miltek dpf delete, stainless exhaust and a map and it's 230bhp with 370ftlb (500nm) it's a reliable map with not too much stress on the engine.

Your map seems a bit half arsed.

  • Author

How much did the Miltek dpf cost? Your getting 100 more NM than my Skoda, will see how much Shark Performance will cost for a re-remap. Right now I'm satisfied with the remap, can overtake cars easily and usually take the car for a good spin.

Looks good. Any future plans?

Thanks, was initially going for BBS CH 18's but since they are soo common, I've changed my mind and want a set of Bentley rims.

My first mod before I hit the States :D Window tinting being done this Friday :)

Looking good Zeb

Who did your remap? Was it a local company to us?!

EDIT: Just seen it... South West In Car Tech. My mates Fabia vRS is running a map from there. Really smooth in the power delivery and has been running with it for a fair few miles now with no issues. They offer a couple of different types of maps so could explain why your numbers seem a little low?

Cool start matey :)

Thanks guys :)

Actually, I only did dyno test from them. The car was remapped before so was the dpf. 193 seems low, but for now I'm happy with the performance. The car wheel spins all the way to 3rd gear lol on full throttle, therefore cannot rag in 1st nor 2nd gear :(

The guy who did dyno test was Mark, he said he can remap it again to 212 BHP, for £280 inc vat. He's much closer so it's likely I will get it remapped from him.

Got my windows tinted today :) Well impressed, certainly changes the look of the car. Front's are 70% rears are 23% will upload pics tonight.  Next up, wheel refurb then respray in Gloss black :) The Bentley rims will have to wait a little till April/May :D

Pics came out SH**T, will take better pics tomorrow daylight. The rear window in the pic is taped due to broken regulator  :@ I used more tape so the window doesn't fall down. Screentech off Fishponds Rd did the tinting at a cost of £200.

Na looks good matey :)

Were u not tempted to use tintaglass and his slammed caddy :D

Looks good. It's on my list aswell ;)

Also looked at Bentley rims but the 2nd hand price makes me shudder.

Looking good zeb. Not normally a fan on tints but they do look good on black octys.
