Zeb's Octavia MK2 VRS - A few little tweeks here and there...

Thanks :)

Initial plan was to go Tintaglass and see his pimped out Caddy lol, but Screentech were much closer and they charged no VAT. Bentley rims are pricey even 2nd hand ones, but they do change the look of the car.

  • Probably going to be of limited interest TBH Zeb, mine's more go than show and won't ever get decked on 19s.

  • I get that 100%, I'm trying to make a comparison between the Passat OE fit you referenced and the Octavia OE fit. I've read through the thread and made several posts in it so I know what Zeb is try

  • Depends what size centre bore the Speedlines are.......whatever it is it needs to come down to 57.1 for the Octavia

If you're serious about looking for bentleys I'd suggest a lot more lows than just springs.

Might look a bit high on 19's without coilovers/air

I've had coilovers and eibach springs on my Passat, had bad experience with coilovers, so thinking to fit Eibach springs instead on 19's. I did see Bentley GTC  online going for £999 with tyres, the lowest he would go is £900. Tyre size were too wide, 275/40/19.

My previous car... :(

Coming along nicely Zeb I'd recommend fitting the new badges really changes the look of the car. I'm going for 19's on mine as well 3sdm's will be running coilovers. Just out of interest what was your bad experience with coils? I reckon the Bentleys will be hard to pull off running springs mate. Passat was a lovely looking car

New black Skoda badges will be fitted. I fitted AK FK Street coilivers, the ride was harsh, stiff and was a struggle to park on pavements. I may go for KW's also known as Weitec coilovers, if I can find a set of decent coilovers for £500 then I will go for them. Mods will start next year after Jan. Passat was a good looking car with those 19's BBS LM's hopefully the Octy will come out better with the mods.

Thanks :)

Get some pictures up :P

Buy cheapo, get cheapo as you found with the FK's :) Next time you come round (or I come to you) take mine for a blip and you will feel the difference ;)

Lol will do...

Don't want to go that route anymore, if I'm spending that much money then I may as well spend a little more and buy a good set of coilovers. Defo will take your VRS and feel the difference of ride, handle, and comfort :)

Thanks :)

Ah thats why you wont fit coils after the Passat they were budgets, as the saying goes "pay peanuts get monkeys" I was looking at Weitecs myself also the AP coilovers are well received here on Briskoda made by KW the only difference between them and Weitecs is the corrosion protection really. Go for a decent brand like them and you wont be dissapointed you went for coilovers

Zeb there is a set of AP coilovers in the 'For Sale' section £300 may be worth a PM to the guy?

Thanks to fitting budget coilovers, I was hesistating to fit coilovers on my Octy again. Now, I'm going to buy branded coilovers that will give me confidence to drive with better tyres.

It's not just on Skoda, but a lot a VAG owners have fitted Bentley rims. I've went to a few club meets and seen them in the flesh. Ferrari wheels? Hell nooo lol, Ferrari and Passat are not in the VAG group.

Tints look amazing on that car mate, been considering getting mine done but I dont think they would work near as well on a blue car!  :wonder:

Thanks,

I had tints on my Blue B6 Passat, and it changed the look of the car. Go for it! :)

No updates as yet, as I'm in the states. However, I have bought a few mods in the U.S, HID Kit 6000K, led side lights, provisionally bought Bentley 19's wheels in UK, and provisionally bought coilovers on this forum. I won't post any pics of the wheels, as want to keep a surprise lol :D

Hopefully all should go to plan...

ET33..........isn't that going to push them out an awful long way beyond the standard ET51s?

They won't fit if the car is lowered. I have same wheels (speedline 9x19") but with et41 and they are a really thight fit with 225/35R19 tyres. I'm running on H&R Monotube coilovers with 1cm threads left to go downwards. You can find pics of the car in the big picture thread in the Octy 2 section here.

You can't compare Passat to Octavia because they are different platform.

The car will look awful without being lowered, so hoping the coilovers will be delivered before weekend. Will be ordering tyres from Camskill, Nankangs NS2 fronts 225/35/19, rears 235/35/19.

I'll look up on the the big pic thread, how low should I go? I park on the pavement and theres quite a few speed humps where I live.

Only you know the answer to that question.

Tight fit as in they won't fit on lowered car and will rub on even stock suspension on bumps on the road. I had on 9x19" et41 235/35R19 in the rear and they rubbed with factory spec camber. With 225/35R19 i had no problems. If you run more camber than factory spec, you'll get sawtooth on your tyres in the back.

9x19" ET33 would mean that you have to modify the camber heavily in the back and also in the front. And the front is the bigger problem as you can't adjust it without adjustable Strut Top Plates and i don't know if you can get enough camber with even them...

Remember.... Camber takes the toe with it lol

If camber is done on the hub

Ive got to -2.5 camber with better oart of 5mm toe in on the rear

Have bow found toe shims so 1 camber out - 1 toe correct in :D

Im sure there's a black estate running these rims in the big thread in the mk2 section.

Might be worth asking him/her how its running!
