Just bought my very first Octavia vrs 03 reg.

 

My head unit is playing up. I have sound but the screen has faded.

 

Would any car stereo work e.g. sony pioneer alpine?

Yes you will be able to use any of them, but you will need a power injector for the aerial if you use the radio, you may need an adaptor loom and you will loose use of the CD changer, you will get a much better sound from an after-market head unit though.

Are all gearbox's ment to be sloppy when changing gear? If so how can I prevent this?
