CLutch problem with my Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi, I drive a 2011 Skoda Octavia(known as Laura in India).

I was driving to my office in the morning and all of a sudden the clutch got a little hard and it became very difficult to change gears. I has to use force to change gears in order to reach my office. Called up Skoda workshop and they asked me to come over. I showed to a car mechanic who i know of. After checking, he said that the master cylinder needs to be changed. I asked him if there can be a problem with pressure or clutch plate or bearing. But he denied saying had that been the case, the clutch paddle would have got stuck and it wouldnt spring back.

Can you give me your views/opinions regarding this. I queried and realised that master cylinder comes under extended warranty. And the skoda dealers here are not seen in good light as they always are looking to inflate the bill for their earnings. (all other clutch parts are not covered under warranty)

Thanks

Welcome.

If you are after specific advice on the clutch issue, it might be worth posting in the Octavia section where you might get more specific help :)

  • 6 months later...

Hello

I drive a 2001 Audi Allroad for the last 6 months. I recently had a mechanic working on the vehicle instrument cluster display. The mechanic somehow made it worst by removing the instrument cluster and activated the immobolizer. To make matters worst, I found a so called europeen car mechanic that swore he could fix it, insted he damged the cluster. I recently bought another cluster and for the life of me the car won't start. I researched the entire net to find out that I have to tow my car four hours away which cost an armed and a leg to do so I can get the immobolized reprogrammed to my car. ANyway, I heard all these talk about a VCDS that car swap the instrument cluster but some are expensive for one job. Please help, I dont need to spend alot of money so I can just swap the instrument cluster. Which one to buy that can do the job?.
