Drivers side fog lamp

Featured Replies

Anyone know the part number for the drives side fog lamp ? The glass has cracked on mine. I expect Skoda will try to take my pants down over the price :rofl:

Just take it out for the ultimate pikey mod. It leaves a nice big ventilation hole for the intercooler.

My source tells me its 6H0 941 700A (with 699A being the left/passenger side one)

Correct if I'm wrong but my little thingy separates the other fog lamps from this one with an "RS" lettering, which sort of gives it away I think - There's just no decent piccie of an RS fog, only the general square ones like I have.

HTH. :D

Edit: And I believe Lummox said it was a 10 minute job to swap a fog over, even for a numpty. Would still be half an hour for me then. :o

Rooboy had to have his done iirc. Try a PM

My drivers side one got broken, I had to remove Front bumper to replace, I couldnt see any other way to do it. Not a bad job from memory about an hour to do.

I may know a man who can get you the parts a little bit cheaper

Suddenly I have become your new best friend :D

Cheers for the helps guys. I have had the fog lamp surround off once or twice, it looks tight but do-able without taking the front bumper off.

I may even give a few "People" ##taps nose with index finger## who maybe able to advise if it can be done without removing the bumper.

I will PM you :P

Maybe we should start a group buy! I need one too! Seems quite common for the drivers side fog to get cracked.

Me too...

Ivan, Yes it can be done without removing the bumper, but not without considerable pain and flexibility issues as it's not easy to access and remove.

It is also easier to take out the back of the fog lamp and leave it all connected instead of diconnecting and removing the whole unit.

48quid they can shove that up their ar5e!

What happens when it breaks a week later?

you buy a new one

I've had mine broken for ages I have the replacement sitting on my tv awaiting me to fit it. I've tried twice but I've given up both times. I guess it might help if I could get the front wheel off!

Not on a vRS they mount differently and are a bit of a bugger.

You don't need the front wheel off, but it's easier if you remove the sump guard.

but isn't the IC in the way? I had the sump off last week (drop the side light blub in the engine bay  ) So I had ago then, I still couldn't do it.

But then I do give up very easy

Not a lot, it's mainly the bumper thats the problem.

This is warranty issue surely!! My Renault Megane did this and they replaced it free of charge

not when a stop has smashed it lol

If a stone crashed into your window screen and smashed it, it wouldnt be a warranty issue... Same princible with a stone smashing a fog light

After seeing this thread i thought ohhh lets have a quick look and sure enough my front drivers side fog lamp is cracked, this means that in the last week ive managed to chip the windscreen and crack a fog light and the cars only done 4000 miles, if i would have fitted the lowering springs the other week when i got them the stone might have missed!!!!!

Roll on group buy!

Is a plastic protector not an option? I suppose one could be made up, but it seems strange that protectors are available for the headlight lenses, but not the foglights, when the foglights are more likely to get hit

I suspect a protector would be available from a company called armourfend, they use 3M protective film like the stuff on the top ledge of your front bumper where the grille meets the bumper.

They do a complete car protection package, I had it all over my scooby including the lights. I wouldn't say I had a good experience with the company but the product is good. The bits for the fogs would be pretty cheap.
