Hid issue

Featured Replies

he's not going to be driving with his main beam on when other cars are coming towards him is he :S this is what the topic is about, his main beam, which normal people only use on dark roads when there's no other cars coming, you must drive round with then on constantly blinding people do you?

He has them on low beam too if you read. As state just get rid of the chav setup, problem solved.

I know everyone has there own views but im using quality bulbs which have been correctly aligned. Does anyone actually know whata wrong though?

It's caused by (as i stated earlier in the thread) magnetic fields created by the HID's affecting the electrics of the car.

On my a4 the magnetic fields affected the steering angle sensor which is why i lost all my traction control and abs etc.

you will probably also find that you get a bit of radio static too or a noisy radio.

I hate HID's, they may be safer for the driver but they certainly aren't for everyone else, totally unnecessary. I love the idiots that fit blue bulbs though, their lights are noticeably dimmer than normal, a bit like they are  :giggle:

Plus you can spot them a mile off

Mega fakey blue on most of them. I just think to myself.... Fake xenon's

Ummm,

If it's causing a problem (or more than one problem it looks like)... Best option would be to revert until you can figure out how to fix it.

HIDs for full beam are a little problematic anyway. The nature of full beam usage (on/off many times a journey) tends to mean the bulbs won't last anywhere near as long as for dipped beam.

For extra full beam driving , you could add driving lights through a separate relay. That's the traditional approach.

Or figure out a way to get bi-xenon projectors into Fabia headlights.

Get yourself projector headlamps then stick a hid kit in . Otherwise it looks cack.
