  • Glad you are pleased with the experiment!! Enjoy the look and the ride. Bring on project No 2??

Rob, you may find it settles a few more mm in time as well. I do like that lowered look for the VRS, but the infestation of speed humps where I live makes that a bit dicey! Be interested to hear your experience of these, if you've driven over them much.

We shall see what it ends up like then. At the minute you can only tell from a distance that its lowered, and to me looks like any audi/merc would out of the factory so if it drops slightly then hopefully not too much :).

Iv only been over some large ones on a 30mph road and didn't really slow down too much for them and wouldn't say it was a big issue, it was more noticeable but the car seems to ride bumps very well and the larger bumps seems no different to the standard car its just the smaller. Stuff thats noticeable.

Looks nice, but would be terrible on the roads I drive on.

If you have a mk3 vrs and drive them roads it wont make that much difference.

Is that Rittal at Hellaby in the background Rob ?

Really? 19 inch and 25mm lower. I am sure it will. It's like saying 17 inch and 25mm higher won't make any difference...

It is indeed.

Yeah i don't think it rides bad over bumps, i wasn't referring to the wheels but even so going from the standard 18's-19's personally i thought the only difference was road noise increase. Springs have not made that much difference over the hardness off standard suspension. Saying that in standard form i wouldnt want to drive it down bad roads anyway cause its hard enough for a everyday car

Looks great - eibach springs are very goods just fitted some in my Rapid and the ride is fine, just like standard, tad firmer!

I think it looks great, I´m sure in person will look even better than the pics.

Bit of an update guys iv done around 200miles now on these springs. The ride is harder but there isn't a lot in it at all the improvement in the drive definitely makes up for it. The car feels a lot more planted.

It seems true what people say about them settling, the car seems to sit a hell of a lot lower than I was expecting, which maybe too low for your typical Škoda Octavia driver but I'm still extremely happy with the purchase and how its looks. Would recommend them to anyone.

Rob

Hope your shocks do better than my mk2 vRS on Eibachs. Just had the front 2 replaced after 65,000 leaking oil and one of the tears is borderline. Skoda think it was the added load on them from the springs.

Im aware that there maybe more wear in the shocks, hopefully skoda will approve the springs then there shouldn't be any worries if not and they don't last the time I own the car Ill replace them with some uprated shocks. They aren't expensive so I'm not too worried.

Rob

Well,  keep us posted and share some more photos after the settling in of the springs...

hey rob - any chance you could measure the distance between the centre of your wheel and the top of the arch?

if you could get that measurement i could compare against a standard car to see how much drop you have?

TIA.

Hi,

Yes I'm at work at the minute however ill do it when I'm home in a few hours.

Ill do both front and rear.

Rob

super, thanks.

Right just measured them.

From the top of the skoda badge/centre cap to the bottom of the arch

Front - 315mm

Rear - 318mm

These are not perfectly accurate as the wheels protrude a lot so had to line up with eye.

Hope this helps

Just an update for those interested. I have now done around 800miles with the springs on, and i do not regret them one tiny bit.

I will say the ride is bumpier but not a lot more, the car rides them very well and is not crashy at all.

The handling of the car is much better feeling a lot more flat when cornering and id say slightly more responsive.

The real reason for the springs were the looks, as I feel for a sporty car it was sat way too high from factory. The car in my opinion looks much better and I'm very impressed with how it looks, the front maybe a little too low to keep the OEM look of you like but I'm over the moon.

Hope this helps.

I think it looks excellent, my dealer had a meteor grey one lowered, chipped and with spacers on it, very neat.

I would like to drop mine but the totally impossible to navigate traffic calming measures that I have to deal with on a near daily basis means it's a no no.

Enjoy!

Looks brilliant and has the stance it should have from factory

Like it a lot

More pics so we can feast our eyes then! :P

If I'd live in a place with better roads and smaller kerbs, I'd do it in a hearbeat too...
