i use an impact driver on the disc retaining screw with some penetrating fluid that usually works!

one like this

For anybody going down the impact driver route, I highly recommend going TIGHTER on the first hit, rather than trying to loosen straight away.

The only other thing that I can think is worth mentioning on top of what everybody else has said, is that you might want to think about replacing the slider set on your calipers, or at the very least cleaning the locating bolts thoroughly with some scotchbrite so they are smooth, cleaning the rubber boots out thoroughly, and using silicon, graphite or lithium grease in the boots when re-assembling.

iirc the carrier bolts were loctited on on mine. For obvious safety reasons. And when I used my impact driver on the screw holding the disc in place, the head snapped off! I just left the broken bit in. Its a pain refitting the wheel as the disc doesn't stay lined up with the holes but I've seen some long locating bars to make that easier.

yes thats true, often you can undo them by hand just by overtightening a smidge first

Just mark with a centre punch, drill it and retap it.

Aye its easy enough to do but its a job for the nice weather!

I was about to say, sod the weather, it's a quick enough job, but then I noticed where you are. :giggle:

Yeah, fair play! ;)

Well all went smoothly today and apart from the 7mm hex I needn't have worried.

The bolts on the carrier had been got at with some sort of chemical metal and almost welded themselves in place but managed to clean them up properly a was at my mates yard so had other equipment to hand to make those bits easier.

Only thing mine didn't have was the retaining screws in the discs so they were a bit of a pain to keep in place but end result after 45 mins they were all done and dusted.

Much better pedal now with no vibrations :D

Thanks for the hints guys.
