What was the ride like on PI springs?

Slightly firmer as you would expect...a great mod to do

Better handling and looks right ....like it should be...not up on stilts!

The thread drags on.

Hit the button on a Weitec & 3SDM order lost a contract at work so bottled it for now in case the redundancy arrives fingers crossed I will be OK. Fairly new there 'first in first out and all that shizz'

Anyway get on with it.

Spoke to C&R at Nottingham £550 including alignment fitted for Eibach pro kit springs. OUCH.

After much consideration either right or wrong I have gone with the H&R low kit 45/50mm taking into consideration the factory VRS drop of 15mm. A nice 30/35mm drop reads perfect on paper just hope it looks it.

Booked in with Awesome GTI in Manchester £351 all in will post pics up when it's completed on the 17th. :)

Christ I hope you reported them? That was robbery :D Even in Ireland I could get all that done for €340!!

Sticking with OE shocks? :)

Mine with PI Springs (30mm) taken at Planica, Slovenia...Car was filthy. Sorry

Made in the same factory as Eibach in Germany apparently

That does look good. Did you use the standard shocks?

Is a 30mm drop OK on the standard shocks?

If the boot was full as mine sometimes is, would the tyres rub the arches?

I did argue the 5 hours Skoda book time they wanted me to pay. Got all defensive and knocked £40 off but still far far to expensive for me. That's why I asked Indys not a dealer for prices.

Yes sticking with OEM shocks if I don't like it I'll just put Weitec coil overs on when the summer comes.

Now to save for a remap don't tell the mrs.

Hadnt realised that was a dealership quote actually. I know the springs are 220 over here, fitting is 25/corner and tracking is usually 20!

It was a independent VAG specialist charging Skoda main dealer prices. £60 per hour!!!

Hope this answers your questions

Yes, thanks for all the responses guys.

Looks like either the PI @ 30mm drop or Eibach at 20mm drop.

Will have a wee think about it but kinda favouring the PI route as the pic above looks good and they are cheaper than the Eibachs.

Hi all :) sorry for late entry into this, gerfinn sent me a pm last week and I forgot all about it!! I have the H&R 50mm springs on mine with standard shocks, car sits very well as it looked like in was on roller skates when I got it!! Have had no probs and it drives very smooth indeed :) the eibach ones dropped it only a wee bit and looked just as standard!! Hence going down the H&R route :)

I'll forgive you :P

Good to hear that they have worked out well with the standard shocks! How long have they been running that way?

I'm getting these also.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE post a picture.

Okeydokley will take a pic tomoro :) have them on since I bought the car new, that was 14k miles ago. The place that put them on tried the eibach ones first and they made no difference in the ride height at all so he ordered the H&R ones. Think we had to order the estate ones as the hatchback ones don't drop that far.

Kit :)

Must be the Eibach's with a "drop" like that!

What's the script with the estate springs dropping more than the hatch ones?
