Leaving home function stopped working.

I would carry out the battery drain update before anything else to see if this clears the problem. Once you are happy the the firmware fix has sorted the original problem think about upgrading the firmware.

The revision is either viewed via the version info option (holding setup button), via VCDS or on a sticker on the side off the unit. Read the warnings on the link you provided particularly regarding the partitioning issue before upgrading the firmware to 4024.

Kevin.

Yes that look likes it.

The only cast iron way to tell the revision is to get the HW radio version number (e.g. 0003 and its revision A).  This will require a VCDS scan if your secret menu is not working, or looking on the label on the side of the unit.

There is not a massive amount to be gained by updating firmware from where you are but there are some, such as radio text if you can go to 412x. However, if you are happy fix the battery drain and leave it at that as you will need to reinstall maps otherwise.

Edit: just seen Kevin's response and I would agree that course of action also.

Hi,

Yes it looks like the file by josi in the thread on VWnavi - http://dfiles.eu/files/d7kweoasp

Both files look to be the same one.

Be aware there is always a danger when playing with firmware.

Regards,

Kevin.

Yeah, thanks Kevin. It's already cost me a battery and a couple of days I've been hours late for work so I'm gonna take a chance on it
