I have got myself a quote from this company regarding remapping my 1.8T Elegance.

A mate has had his Ibiza TDI Sport chipped by Upsolute.

He's very pleased with the results & it's as good as any other decent remap/chip on the market at the moment.

RUDE!!! :D

uh?

uh?

its an expression, rude = naughty but nice!!!!, or something like that

The Fabia looks lower than some of the other off the shelf maps but on the other hand maybe it's good that they aren't making any wild claims.

They remapped a friends Leon Cupra a while ago! It was a bit crap TBH! Overfurelling everywhere and in the end he had it taken off!

A classic example of good and bad experiances - Bet that's helped you to make your mind up :P

Someone on here who will remane nameless for now had the upsolute chip in his octy vRs. The torque curve was apauling, when using full throttle initially it went off like a rocket till about 4k rpm, then you hit the windscreen as the power delivery was cut right back. The best way to describe it was a bucking bronco, it was truely awfull. The chip was removed within 2 days IIRC and replaced with a slightly better superchip, but that didnt last long either.

hmmmm - well i was only asking, cause another member on here didnt want to travel to Jabba for a remap! bit to far....

Hi

www.custom-code.co.uk now have a few dealers about.

Have a look on there and see if there is anyone near you.

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee with that too.

But have not done that yet.

This is a smooth torque curve and will rev through the range.

A respected member on here had an Upsolute chip at one point in the past and I have heard him offer to GIVE it to anyone who wanted it for free, it was that good! Needless to say he now uses the services of another tuner.

It was Simon Coe who emailed me with the price. I then emailed him back to ask him about a guarantee of some sort but he said he did not offer one. I don't think i am going to bother with the Upsolute one as other remaping places seem to offer a better experience according to most people on here. Its just a shame that they cost more

I personally am not sure if i am definatley going to get mine done yet beacuse it is only 18 months old and i am concerned about warranty implications. I also don't really want to be paying

If you were to join up with a Jabba Group Buy (I think there is currently one running) it is a lot cheaper. Jabba are pretty well respected.

I understand Custom Code are well respected too.

I don't know why a tuner would insist on any ohter specific upgrades, perhaps say that a further improvement might be gained by making some changes but I would say they are most certainly not a requirement.

Here ya go -

1.8T

I really dont want to pay more than about
I'm about as conservative as they come where warranty and mods are concerned. But I bit the bullet, had my car remapped by Jabba at 17 months, and haven't regretted doing so one bit. HTH. :D

since you had it mapped have you had to make any warranty claims?? if so was there a problem?

I don't know about Denis but I've made a couple of warranty claims. My local dealer just takes a mature approach about the whole thing ie if your seat is loose it's not because you've had the car mapped. No doubt it would be a different story if my turbo had gone pop but then again I wouldn't even try to claim if that happened.

Car's been mapped since new, had three different maps, 60k and it had warranty work this morning.

It's very much sense and sensibility, but your dealer can refuse to touch your car under warranty if it's modified.

There is a law in the US, it might exist here, which is bascially the manf has to proove the modified part caused the failure. Thus a new air filter does not cause your steering pump to fail etc.

The remap is tough as it could be argued it causes more stress. Basically it does, but hey...thats what tollerance is for. Don't expect to get a warranty, but be pleased when you find most *search* will be sensible about it. I was reading the Nissan 350Z forums and a chap lost his engine; rod through block...his warranty was thrown due to "excessive wear on rear tyres", when challenged they said air filter too...I don't think many dealers are this challenged here, but worse case scenarios always exist.

I brought the car as it was reliable pretty much regardless of what I did, some lemons of course are always present.
