  • It will work but it is older and limited in its functionality - you won't get the phonebook on the Columbus for example and will therefore need maxidot (see http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/VW-bl

I agree it is odd. On that other unit were you entering anything on the maxidot in the pairing process? It should have been a 16 digit number.

Yer a set of numbers 4 of each. Rulled out the sim card as tried another tonight and network. Im going to ask a mate at work tomorrow if he has a couple of phones I can borrow bit of a mobile wheeler dealer

It definitely sounds like a pairing problem though. With the new unit it is feasible to connect in hfp mode to see if that is better. But you would need to do it through a FL car with maxidot...

Interesting. So you have the phone menu in maxidot??? Are you sure its not a 3c0 module?

Seems very odd to me that its compatable. Was fairly easy to run the antenna wire too

Well maybe the new modules work with ddp as well as bap then. But I am very surprised as this is the first time Ive heard the pre fl show a maxidot menu in the newer modules... Might be worth posting the full part number for others to benefit.

Its 3C8 035 730. No letter after it

Maybe that unit is still ddp not bap as per the ross tech page then. Does it also do bt streaming?

I dont think so. But I havnt tried it

Looking again at the ross tech wiki it looks like it supercedes the 5n0 .. a module so probably similar to the 5n0 .. b module you had previously. Your app has made the rsap work properly, needed possibly because the network had done something to disable it.

Thats my thoughts exactly. Now to sell the 5NO B. How much do you think its worth?

Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Not much unfortunately. Somewhere between 20 and 50 depending on demand on eBay. There are some there for a lot more but they have been there since I sold mine over a year ago. Mine fetched less than 30 quid...

The ones with a loom sell better and for quite a bit more so if you have the old one it will help. And is your very old module a metal one? As for some reason they hold their value much better.

If I can get £50 ill be happy. The other unit is a 5P0 862 335C

See ebay, those are going for £80 upwards. Not sure why such an old module is seemingly so desirable. The metal boxes are certainly more valuable.

Maybe as they are more compatible than the newer premium ones
