Arrrgggghhhh!

Decided to take my six month old immaculate Monte out today as I haven't driven it for over a week, parked in the Currys car park away from other vehicles, got back to the car after only ten minutes and some scum of the earth bast**d has smacked their car door into my rear driver side door and creased the entire length of it, and scratched the paint down to the primer.

I've already been out and polished out most of the paint damage with Farecla G3 but the crease is going to require specialist attention.

Why the fck do people do this and just drive off?

Apologies for the swearing - I'm effing angry!!

What a disappointment!  The joys of the world we live in.

Have you done the obvious and asked Currys if they have CTV? If not it's worth a shot.

So many examples of cars damaged in car parks these days.

Hope you get it sorted.

Not much point as I'm alost certain nothing would come of it - waiting for a quote from the dent repair guys, may aswell get the stone chips sorted whilst I'm at it.

I had a company car for the last three years which was abused to say the least and not so much as a scratch - now I have my own car again I've already had a destroyed wing mirror, multiple chunks of paint removed by stone chips and now a dented rear door!

Thats the funds for the lowering springs out the window I guess - worst thing is, as I sit here at the kitchen table typing this I'm looking right at the dent through the window which is making me more and more angry!!!!!!

Some thick B*********s don't realise they have done damage. They just open their door as if they have the whole damn car park.

It doesn't help having a good swear, but just calms my temper before I start driving home.

There are times when I wonder, is it worth it having a nice clean car as it always happens with my car when it's clean, never when it's dirty.

The worst car park I find for this is the Bull Ring (Birmingham). I always get there early and park far away in a corner, and sometimes come back to find some nice person has given me about 2 inches to get in.

Just 33 days to go afore I get my Yeti (sorry)

Probably someones bloody kids or the high winds we've got at the

moment catching someones door.

This is why I do all my menial driving in my van.

In all honesty I'd barely be bothered if I came back to

that and found it with scaffold tube rammed through the windscreen.

Typical of people these days to not own up.

I suppose I should stop being so precious - **** happens, but its the fact that people do this and just drive off without even leaving a note or maybe giving it five minutes to see if the owner of the car comes back (I would have and it would not have been pretty!)

Its just that I take a huge amount of time and effort to look after things, and despite it not being a top of the range Audi it still cost a fair amount of money - its infuriating that someone can cause damage to a 12k vehicle and just act like it doesn't matter.

I feel like going out an buying a £500 wreck just to use in car parks! But in reality we used to do this and its not worth the hassle of running so many vehicles.

Three hours later - still angry!

You've every right to be peeved about it.

I'm very lucky to have a choice of vehicles but on the down side

it means I only get to drive the S3 very very rarely which is a shame as it is a lovely car.

But I only ever use it when I'm going somewhere where I can park it safely.

I drive the wifes Fiat 500 more often than my Audi :( and my slow noisy basic old

van even more still.

I had a bad experience where one sunday evening my mrs asked me to go and get her

a bottle of wine. The nearest place open was about 4 miles away along a NSL road

so I thought I'd have a squirt in the S3 for a change. I parked up in one of the bays

and went and got the wine, paid for it and got back in the car. Someone had parked a

manky old Land Rover next to my car leaving me barely enough room to get back into it.

There were still a couple of people sat in the Land rover in the back waiting for the driver

to come out of the shop. They were the 'swampy' type. You know the ones, dreadlocked

animal rights activist types. Anyway,  I thought no more of it and prepared to reverse out

of the bay. As my driver window passed the rear door of the Land Rover the 20 odd year old

female stuck her head out of the window and spat on my car, presumably because in her

mind the Audi represents capitalism or a highly polluting car or whatever.

I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and drove home and cleaned it off my car when I got there

but it's things like that which put me off of using it too often.

At the end of the day whatever badge is on it if it's your pride and

joy and you've worked hard to pay for it then it's going to grate when somebody isn't

respectful of your property.

Oh my God, I would have stoppped and had it out with them there and then, that would have sent me over the edge! As you say, whatever the car is worth, someone had to pay for it and they didn't always inherit the money or win the lottery - most time people have to work their asses off to pay for such things, and at the end of the day its working hard and paying taxes that pays everyones pension and these scumbags giro money, how dare they?!!

Thats also making me angry and it wasnt even my car!

My missus ran into some trouble the other night, had someone stop their car in front of her and start banging on the windows and trying to get in (they were driving like a moron doing risky overtakes and she wouldn't let them force their way back in) she locked the door and called me, I told her to drive home as the guy was following her at this point, I ended up stood in the middle of the road with a torch in one had (to blind them) and a crow bar in the other. Now I don't condone violence generally, but I wasn't intending to be asking polite questions if you catch my drift.

She also witnessed a fanstastic incident a couple of weeks ago, same sort of thing idiot driver cutting everyone up and he got stuck at some lights, where upon one of the cars he had tangled with also stopped and four 'asian' lads got out (her words not mine) they went over to the guys car and he bricked it, drove over a plastic bollard thingy and legged it - looks like he fcked with the wrong car!!! Priceless.

What made it great was that she passed them again on the A14 and they were all smiling and giving her the thumbs up.

God I wish I'd have been there to see it.

20 year old me would have gone and got a trolley and thrown it

through the windscreen of the land rover, but 40 year old me has a

bit more self control. I couldn't help but think that I'd already won.

I have a nice car, couple of properties, gorgeous wife, no financial worries at all,

no kids to consider, I go on exotic holidays and have a successful business.

The she-troglodyte will never have the life I have unless the world changes

and people start accepting lentils as currency.

So in my mind at least, I've already won, I'm very happy.

My life is smashing and I could do without the drama.

It took me 10 seconds to clean her flob off the car with a bit of quick detailer.

There were 3 blokes with her and tackling them may well have ended badly.

You are right of course, and I often think the same way about my life compared to others - in fact after the crow bar incident (I'm sure this isn't spelt correctly - is it crobar?!!) I gave my mrs a rollocking and told her not to be so stupid and block idiot drivers as its not going to change the way they behave.

The problem is that my sense of injustice takes over and I don't think straight.

Said driver never followed her home in the end, he turned off before she arrived - lucky boy :bandit:

Agree with the above, although not a new car i have taken car of our 1.9TDI Elegance (Mk1) since new and always park away from others and normally with only one side able to be parked next too..... went to the bloody Trafford Centre the other week and park in a corner space, came back and some moron had '' parked '' his car on the paved area next to the drivers door, ie somewhere he should not even be.

Had to climb over the passenger side and move the car that way, i sent pics to the Trafford Centre and pointed out that he had no even bothered to pay attention to the double yellow lines ......'' oh we don't bother to enforce the parking restrictions '' !!! This is what the half-with from intu (the owners) said, let's just say they got a piece of my mind.

You can never prevent idiots from doing what you don't want them to do.... they are idiots after all.

Really feel for u mate.

Been there and almost died :-(

Wot gets me, is if we are careful enough to park sooooo far away, and then having to walk sooooo far to get to the shops -

U would have thought only car loving owners would park next to us?

No, u get a lazy ****** car hating, scum of the earth,

who s willing to park sooooo far way, where there are soooo many places and YET park nx to our previous cars,

walk sooooo far to the shop(s), AND then back again,

just to damage our cars?!!!!!!

I wonder at times if its just pure jealousy and was on purpose ....

I agree with the opinion that many drivers don't realize they have bumped or hit the other vehicle. Twice I've seen people through my office window bumping my car more than once in order to park their bucket and numerous more involving other cars and in all cases it was clear they were oblivious to what they were doing.

Also I hate jokers with towbars - my front number plate is like the face of the moon - and many put on one illegally so they don't ruin their car due to their incompetence. They prefer just to ruin yours.

It all boils down to lack of education and respect.

'Lack of respect' sums it up perfectly.

By the way, your car is a complete inspiration for anyone looking to modify their MKII Fabia and is the benchmark for us all to work to. I have been following the project journal with interest.

How are you getting on with the spacers as I was warned off them by someone more mechanically competant than me!

Cheers DarkT - that is very kind of you. Within reason, spacers are a mod worth doing especially for the aesthetics.

Haven't had any issues after all this time and still love the look of the car. Just pick a hub-centric set and you will be fine.

Cool - I will continue my research ref the spacers, I was also originally looking at 30mm Eibach springs but am now considering 40mm H&R. Other than this the main aesthetic mod will be changing the DRL's to LED (couple of bulb versions on order) and then having the badges sprayed up in Black Pearl - I don't want any chrome on the car at all.

The budget for this has been taken though by the cost of pulling out the damage to the car - £75 + VAT which isn't too bad but money that could have been spent elsewhere.

Some people just couldn't give a damn, if you're opening you'r door and you think it might hit someone else's car then put your hand on the end of the door at its widest point so your fingers stop it from touching. Not that hard to figure out.
