Rear Drums help / advice

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Im going to replace my rear brake drums and shoes at the end of the Jan,

given the state the fronts were in, and the binding issues im going to get the whole let changed.

is it worth replacing the brake cable, and all the springs etc at the same time?

I doubt anything has ever been changed back there...

edit -

what is the difference between the 2 brake cables listed on ECP -

I would be prepared to change the brake cylinders as well. There is a good chance they will be leaking and it may be false economy to not change them. I would definitely change the springs, I had 2 break on a similar aged Fabia. Sorry no idea about the cables.

Thanks Peter,

Does anyone know where to get replacement spring sets for putting in the new Shoes?

cant find them on ECP website.

Ferodo make shoe/cylinder kits. I think Pagid even did a few kits. They include all springs needed, an come ready assembled. No idea if they list fitment for your car, you'd have to check.

Yeah, ECP got back to me on the springs, that they are included with the Shoes.

Just to check, by cylinders, are you  referring to the drums?

Wheel cylinder is the part between the two shoes, at the top. It has two pistons in it to push the shoes against the drum.
