More than likely Grimsby, Sheerness seems to only cover a small part of the south of England I believe.

Anyone had any update on week 2 builds?

TPs ship watching over the weekend obviously did something. My car is in the UK and on it's way to the dealers!

There's a chance of a Saturday pick up; which given that I ordered on 21st Oct would be 14 weeks pretty much on the nose.

Blue Monday? No chance!

Thats great news Niall,

just wonder if mine will make it over as quickly, dealer seems to think end of the month but who knows.

Exciting stuff.  Dont want to hassle the dealer (Crawley Down) but I think I may have to tomorrow!

Mines in the uk - 4 months to the day from order! :-))

Mine seems to be on a ship at the moment as far as the dealer's info says. Should be over here fairly soon.

Hello All Again,

I have just spoken to Skoda UK as my dealer is away for a couple of days, apparently the car was released to Embden on the 14th, and is still sat there waiting for transporting. The chap did tell me that they have 14 days at the port before it is a forced release. That doesn't go with what the dealer told me that it should be with them in two weeks as it could still be in Embden then.

I was hoping to have it early Feb, but that could put me in a difficult decision as I want the car ASAP, however if the dealer has it for a week or so, for preparing, i may as well wait until March

Hmm........ Hurry up and ship is the only option!

In the same boat; no pun intended but my dealer is telling me I must collect within 10 days of it arriving with them.

Yes, similar for me, dealer is expecting it to be collected as soon as. So I opted to put my personal plate on it. shame, would have liked the new reg for a few months.

Anyone got any news on delivery?

Mines a company car and the supplier is a bit usless with info!

Well, I thought mine was on a ship, but must have confused that with released to ship. Its still not at Grimsby. Goodness knows how long it will be before it gets to the dealer.

Ummmm, mines expected to arrive at the dealer tomorrow to get PDI'd and towbar fitted for a Saturday collection.

Sorry guys...........

SUK must like you; expedited order :giggle:

Great news though and please some pics to get jealous over asap :)

Spoke to SUK today who told me my car was "called off" on the 13th of Jan. It is at Emden now and should not stay there any longer than 14 days. Hopefully it will be on a boat before the end of the month. Race blue VRS hatch with several ootions. Ordered 23rd September 2013.

Got a call from dealer this morning. Car is in UK at the port awaiting transport.  Possibly with them in around 10 days & I should be able to pick up 1st week in February

Going in to do the paperwork on Monday and back Wednesday to pick it up....... Nearly there!! :-)

BW2 and on the Drive!

I'll keep the photos brief (there's plenty on here of similar).

Outside the dealers in the pouring rain.

At home waiting for the winter steels to go on.

The only obvious Clue this isn't a normal Octavia!!

So, thoughts so far...........

The 17s make the car, would look 'underwheeled' on 16s IMHO (...sorry TP)

The Rough Road Pack doesn't add that much in ride height so I'll need to tread a bit more carefully when off the Tarmac, but I do still have the protection

Overall this is an iterative improvement of what was already a solid car rather than a reinvention

The VBF is lot more flexible than that in the Mk2

Loving the Bolero and the general 'cutting edge' tech level throughout; the biggest leap forward over the Mk2 in the cabin IMHO

After a night time B-Road blast in 'Sport' this evening, the car is definitely 'a weapon'

Special thanks to the Dealer for some joined up thinking; Customer A with an Elegance wants 16s, Customer B with an SE wants 17s (Me) - Dealer managed the wheel swap behind the scenes = 2 happy customers (and no Alloy upgrade charges for me - bonus!!)

Downsides?

It doesn't carry the Winter Steels look off as well as the Scout did somehow, thankfully it was dark by then you're spared the photo!

Looking forward to getting some miles down.

Niall

Hi Niall,

been wondering if you had been able to collect.

Looks great and you are right with both the colour choice and the 17" wheels, as they suite the car very well; she is quite a big car for 16's after all :)

Likewise have a set of 16" steels waiting, just need our 4x4 to put them on. Hoping to find out Monday if we are go for next weekend  :wonder:

Oh did yours come with the 4x4 badge on the boot, seen some without.

Regards,

That red looks nice. I am still waiting for mine to get to the UK. Goodness only knows why mine is taking so long to get here.

Thanks for the compliments, very pleased with it, especially as the money saved on metallic paint by going red got me High Beam Assist (which also gets you auto wipers and the self dimming rear mirror). Also had enough with grey/silvers and every shade in between so keen for something a bit more vibrant.

TP - It does say '4x4' on the tailgate but as the 'x' is red it's hard to see, will stand out much better on yours!

So how many of us build week2 people have not had their car arrive in the UK yet? I am waiting on an update, but I keep having to push for a response.

It wasn't in grimsby the last time I checked with the dealer.

This is getting a bit crucial now, really need it as soon as, because my Roomster is now spoken for.

Hi,

I'm still in transit, no further details as yet

Neil.
