  • Little update...My car looks bit different now. We went to Poland end of August for two weeks holiday. As I have already mentioned I discovered that lacquer is peeling on my Furby. I did try to speak

  • My car was tested on the track today...my handling mods were well worth it. I absolutely loved every minute I spent on the track. Now I'm off to find some track wheels and tyres, new Turbo, New FMIC

  • Pictures of the car as promised but please bear in mind that I hadn't had a chance to clean it yet as I only got back yesterday... :p   How the car looks with Weitec GT Hicon Coilovers:     New

That's a bloody good deal.

Can't wait to see the difference with the spacers on.

Will post plenty of before and after pics once all mods are fitted...;)

Sooo...I just purchased some goodies...from AKS Tuning (Alex is a great and very helpful guy - Thanks Sparkly)

  • H&R RARB (thanks to all MKII vRS owners who have these fitted)
  • SuperPro Bushes - whole suspension kit
  • EBC Yellow Stuff Brake Pads (thanks to James Isharkrider for supplying the part number)
  • ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid (Thanks Sparkly)
  • BMC Panel Air Filter
  • HID H7 35W CanBus 5000K Slim Kit from HIDs Direct

Can't wait to receive all of these goodies and fit them to my car...

I have also just booked the Summer Track Day @ Castle Combe in September...

Exciting times!

Ohhh yes...:)

Do you really need yellow stuff pads and super brake fluid? Lots of tracks days planned as well as Combe?

Day to day driving, even fast road driving won't see the need for it surely?

With your power output (140-150bhp) upgraded 312's with decent discs and pads would be fine?

  • Author

I know where you coming form Ad but 312mm will cost me much more than yellow stuff and brake fluid put together. The both options are road legal and I'll definitely benefit from both even if I decide to go on track...so I'm killing two birds with one stone...;)

312mm set up inc. discs, callipers, pads and everything else will cost me roughly £250 or more.

These pads and fluid costed me less than £85 in total and it's much better option for me at the moment

I might get 312mm brakes in the future but speaking to Sharkrider and seeing how his car performed at Castle Combe with just Yellow Pads fitted I decided to do the same to my car.

He also said these perform really well on the day to day driving so that was no brainer for me...;)

I get where you are coming from but I just feel it may be over kill?

Dave also has the need for more stopping power having 200bhp or so!

You should scour the for sale section - the odd set come up with discs and pads relatively cheap.

I'm putting 312's on mine this weekend.

Thanks for the advice and recommendations on which parts I should've ordered...

312mm set up inc. discs, callipers, pads and everything else will cost me roughly £250 or more.

You can sometimes pick a set up for around £100, second hand.

I might even know where there is a set.

Have sent you details of the 312mm set up.

Will get hold of it for you in a week or so.

Spoken to the supplier and it looks like pads I ordered should fit the 312mm set up anyway so Happy Days and huge thanks to you Richard...!!!!!!

My car will have even better stopping power now....:)

I was going to mention bossfox had some but didn't want to say anything unless they'd gone already.

I have a set coming from Richard too :)

Even though I promised myself not to spend more money before my holiday I bought the PD160 Intake for my Fabia...

Nice box, mine came in bubble wrap, and that's it, lol.

Did you get both?

  • Author

Second thing was I upgraded my Intake to PD160 from Seat (Bought it here from Haydn)...

Very easy to fit, engine bay looks better and bit deeper engine noise.
