Is it possible to deactivate passenger airbag? My daughter is due in march and I want her riding up front with daddy

I'm pretty sure it was an optional extra tor a switch in the glovebox.

Factory fitted in my 2005 Fabia VRS MK1 2005 (was not a purchase option)

Open passenger glove compartment, look for a keyhole, clearly marked, airbag ON/OFF.

Use your ignition key to enable or disable air-bag operation.

 

 

I would feel more happy with a young person on the back seat, well strapped-in, rather than beside me at the front.

You might forget to enable/disable air-bag when an adult uses front seat or your young person ..

Not all fabias have the keyhole to turn it on/off

If you have VCDS, I'd personally just unplug battery, unplug airbag, live with the light being on for a while, then clear the fault code when no longer carrying on front seat.  Can you get a rear baby seat?

ill have a look I previously had a citreon c4 vtr coupe which was the same, key hole on/off switch in glove box. I don't think there is one in my fabia tbh. ill check it out might have to go with devonutopia's idea

If you have vcds, you can deactivate the pass airbag in adaptation,

I think On/Off key switch became standard only on the FL models, sometime in 2004ish

My 04 nor my 53 plate have one. A friends 54 did but it was down on the build sheet as an option.

Didn't know you could turn off in vcds. I've never really rummaged around in there as always (perhaps unnecessarily) concerned about blowing the airbags

It was, quite a cheap option but was definitely specced on my 54 reg vRS I had the original

bill of sale and it was listed as a chargeable extra (£75?)

Quite true. I had two 54 plates. My vRS one had it (as above) and the sdi didn't.

It was specced on my vRS and not on the SDI and had both receipts. So maybe they made

it standard on later models?
