Worn engine mount?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I've noticed this for a while now, but when my Vrs is idling on a downward slope (engine downhill) there is a occasional rumble/vibration noise. The noise is less pronounced when clutch is depressed.

Looking online a worn engine mount may be a cause, what do we think?

Thanks

Matt

I hate doing this, but.....bump

What's it like when you're pulling away?

My mate had a 206 GTI that's engine mounts were so worn, when you pulled away it felt like the engine was trying to jump through the dash

Lower one is a cheap and easy diy job only 4 bolts so might as well change that for the cost, the powerflex diesel one is good. Fitted it other week.

But thought if there is a change with clutch depressed it points towards flywheel been on its way out, if you are still running a dual mass. But don't.know with it only happening downhill.

Note, I am no mechanic just a reader of the forum.

Both lower "dogbone" gearbox mount + upper gearbox mounts are common faults.. wears through rubber n metal on metal vibrates.
