Greetings fellow Yeti enthusiasts.

 

Having browsed the excellent Briskoda forums from the outside for several months, I was about 90% certain I was going to order a Superb L&K, when I remembered one of the main reasons I moved to an SUV six years ago was the ease of getting in and out of the car and the elevated driving position.  So despite an excellent test drive in a Superb, I have been swayed by the added appeal of the Yeti, and have ordered an Outdoor L&K, 140 DSG in Jungle Green with a few key extras (reversing camera, electric driver's seat, KESSY, 12 speaker set-up, MDI and Premium GSM III).

 

I believe I have negotiated a decent discount, a good trade-in value (against a Lexus RX450(!), and a 3-year servicing package.  I have until Sunday to finalise the spec and options, so I would really appreciate you guys' views on my choice of colour and options, especially the Premium GSM III, which I am struggling to find out what it adds to the car. 

 

Looking forward to joining the Yeti club, and some banter with this bunch of enthusiasts.

Impressive spec....

Not sure if it comes with heated windscreen washer nozzles and if not is around £20-30 to add.

Depending on your take on the subject....Spare Tyre option (£150, was £85 pre-facelift) which includes raised floor, mats which are good quality rubber or cloth.

Rear mud flaps.£20...no mention of fronts in brochure/configurator but with a history of paint damage a good option (front and rears) although doesn't completely solve problem if you read the threads.

 

Enjoy, would consider it if I could get head round thought of very dark brown leather...although

not seen it in the flesh yet.

I have...and not impressed I have to say. SUK seem to be trying hard with their range of trims and colours to encourage present Yeti owners to looks elsewhere for their choice of new vehicle. (I'm assuming that black leather or eg alcantara is available to L&K specifiers elsewhere in the EU?) But obviously a very personal view and opinion.

Tend to agree, body colours appear to be skewed to some odd drab tints but lots on here will shout me down (when was brown/beige/bronze/green main stream colours?)...reminds me of Morris Marina (Black Cherry, Russet Brown (hides the rust), xxx Beige) days!!!

Not just Skoda, I can remember seeing  a Jazz in (what were they thinking of) metallic Pink. An extra £1k off the trade in price!

For a bit of a lift you are stuck with white, red or boring silver, although Petrol?? Blue looks pretty reasonable.

Maybe the current batch is to disguise the road muck as much as possible.

 

Noticed the dealers small colour samples are not very good at showing what it will look like on the car.

I really appreciate the electric driver's seat - well worth the extra!

Can you describe what extra movement you get to normal seats (more/less height adjustment for example)?

Not bothered about memory feature but extra adjustability would be nice.

I really miss the electric seats - had them on my last three Octavias, but I think it was more to do with the memory feature and the auto dipping nearside mirror than any extra movement. 

 

As others have said I'd go for spare wheel and heated screen over premium bluetooth

There are two of these horrors parked at the same house near here. Not only that but they have xxxPNK registration numbers as well.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I certainly appreciate the feedback.  Coming from a Lexus, I have got used to loads of toys, but to be fair, the Yeti ticks most of the boxes.  Main shortfalls will be Adaptive Cruise Control (excellent, and I will need to remember the Yeti doesn't have it), the Head Up Display (I'm sure the Maxidot will do most of this) and the cooled front seats (never found these to be very effective).  The Yeti will give some new features (heated windscreen, panoramic roof and park assist) to play with.  Not bad for less than half the original Lexus sticker price!

 

Brown leather upholstery is not my favourite choice either, but when I specced up an Elegance to the same configuration as the L&K on the online configurator, the price went up by nearly £2k, so I reckon I can live with it.

 

I know I should go for a spare wheel, but I'm conscious it takes up quite a bit valuable boot space.  The dealer said that he should be able to source one if I change my mind post delivery. I will make my final choices over the weekend, and sign the dotted line on Sunday.  I will report back on progress.

The spare wheel really doesn't take up a lot of space.

i bought the set from an owner on here, and all the cr@p I used to carry on top of the carpet is now stored in the plastic boxes below the carpet! It looses you about 3" in the height, that is all.

Would get the spare and use a roof box/soft box for the odd times you need more luggage space, found this worked well for me anyway.

I had a puncture 2 weeks into ownership of the yeti, glad it came with a spare. Never struggled with boot space

Enjoy the l&k mate , I love mine , I'm even liking the brown leather ! I went the full hog and got the exclusive magnetic brown paint as well ,,,,,,, thought I was mad ,,, but it is really good in real life.
