cruise control failure?

Featured Replies

hello!

On my way home today my cruise control failed to engage. Tried several times to switch it ON/OFF and "set" no result.

Then I parked my car, turned ignition off and starter her again. Voila...cruise working again.

I did read "cruise control" chapter from owners manual but did not find any clues what might happend. Anyone have an idea?

cheers

Jan

Manky switch.

Have a search around about cleaning CC contacts. Easy job take about 15min

Split the stalk with something plastic so it doesn't mark.

Take out the little circuit board.

I used a cotton bud and some contact cleaner to go over the contacts.

Pop back in and Bobs your Mothers brother.

Mine could do with getting done again.

Yep, as above. Did mine about 2yrs ago and noticed it's happened a couple of times recently.

I have the guide in PDF form somewhere, if you can't find it on a search.

Mine stopped working for a few months last years. Was going to either clean it or replace, but never got around to it.

But started working again and never had a issue since, touch wood.

So who knows, must be gremlins
