seat belt

Featured Replies

hello, I have a 2007 roomster and I am having a problem with the drivers seat belt catch. I have to hold the button down to get the end in. can it be repaired or do I need a new one. if so where is the best place to get one?

thanks I will check it out

On ebay you see accident damaged Roomsters being sold off piece by piece - maybe worth emailing a seller and asking how much for that little bit, couldn't be that much.

The one thing I would never buy from an accident damaged car is anything to do with seatbelts. Nor would I ever consider dismantling a buckle to repair it.

I'm biased because I'm only alive because of a seatbelt.

I would have thought a dealer supplied replacement will be cheaper than a funeral

Yes perhaps its worth stressing that seat belt buckles ,are not designed to be repaired,or dismantled!.If yours fails, you need to replace the buckle and stalk complete.

Maybe I should have added that that point in my first reply!

Yes I didn't mean to use a damaged one. My thought was that perhaps the passenger one was interchangeable with the drivers one and so if there was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the accident the other one would be fine. But I suppose the reality is that unless you know the driver you can't be 100% sure the accident didn't involve that bit, and therefore my idea only works in theory :rain:

That,s OK we know you meant well!

A parallel would be in my old motorcycling days we were told if you had an accident  and the helmet took a blow,to discard it and buy a new one,as you didn,t know what stress it had undergone?
