Front Wipers

Featured Replies

Had the car nearly 2 years and only noticed this today.

I have manual wipers.

If the wipers are on and you come to a stop they switch to intermittent. When you start moving again they go back to normal speed.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, good innit !!

Yeah, good innit !!

No, it's a nuisance! I want to see what's going on even if I'm stopped at lights, so have to keep switching to non intermittent or use the single wipe if it's raining more than a few drops.

Can it be switched of via vcds?

yeah, just noticed this today too!

Want to swap for mine? They wont go onto intermittent!! Even when im at a standstill. Have to do either manual intermittent or put them on constant.

To the people with Elegance spec cars... do you not have rain sensitive wipers?

Yes, but they stop when at a standstill (maybe give one wipe a minute if it is really pouring.)

must be a vag thing, my vw caddy works van does it too. I dont mind it too much tbh, keep your windscreen treated with rain-x and some decent wipers and you'll have no problems

or in my case, Yes, but they wont stop going nuts the whole time!

Have you got the stalk control on the slowest setting?

I have it too and find it very useful-stops the wipers juddering across a dry screen when its almost stopped raining. Probably not as good as rain semsitive ones but better than not having it at all IMO

Tried lowest, highest, everything! Wish i had my old fabia wipers back.
