Took my car in to the main dealer for a service recently. I checked online and found the info on what is done on a 4th year service and got the price £249 + £49 brake fluid change. After I collected the car I was told it was an inspection service and was shown a very short list of what was done. Oil change, pollen filter, brake fluid and screenwash. Apparently things like spark plugs & air filter is every 6 years. Doesn't make sense to me. So got a bill for £251 when I could have bought the parts required and done it myself for maybe £80.

Which servicing regime are you on?

I'm on variable. I just thought that after 4 years regardless of mileage, all the list of jobs online should be done.

If you are on variable then the only thing time-linked is the brake fluid and pollen filter, everything else seems to be mileage based.

Just had 4th annual service ( don't trust variable - personal thing) and they changed oil, brake fluid, pollen filter and did MoT. Similiar price, there was a check list of things they checked which is on page 8 of my service schedule to be carried out every 60000 km or 4 years whichever comes first.

So you know Yeti has done 28,000 miles a lot of which is in London traffic - somewhat harder on a car than country or motorway driving imo. which is why I have annual servicing.

Servicing does seem expensive for the amount that they do, however without the Dealer stamp, the brake fluid change and the aircon service bang goes your chance of any goodwill.....

manual says 60,000 km (= 37,500 miles) but no time constraint, for coupling oil change.
