Citigo deals

Featured Replies

Well OH has almost decided the Felicia has to go, is taken with the Citigo. Now I know there is a waiting list and seems a sellers market but what can we expect to get off a new 1.0 SE 5 door, we'd be taking it on a 0% PCP (Skoda deal) using the Felicia as p/x.

I'm used to getting good deals when I trade in my Octavia for the next one but not so sure what I can expect with the Citigo.

Thanks for any guidance you can give.

There's not a lot of discount in citigos but a dealer told me they have "a few hundred pound to play with".

We covered this topic a while back.

Have a read through some past threads mate, but like markyg said, deals are hard on the Citigo, with not as much margin for dealers to play with than on other cars

There are always deals to be had on any car. Dont listen to dealers giving you a sob story. There is a nice profit in any new car plus the dealer bonus on every new car sold.

The Auto Express aim to pay shows the VW UP discounted to the same price as the Citigo. You could always try the Brokers,or buy a pre reg.

At the moment a dealer near me has a 13 reg Citigo Sport for sale at £8500 which he probably bought for £7000 and has put the usual £1500 mark up on it.  However the best price i have seen is a 63 reg Mazda MX5 Roadster that costs £20 000 new. This one is up at £15 000,and when i enquired,i could have got it for £14 000. I cant bring myself to paying £200 road tax though and 25 MPG when i have been used to Free Road Tax and 60 MPG.

I agree there is always a deal to have. I guess the timing also makes a difference. I got £840 off mines with Alex Lawrie in Liverpool. I used CARWOW to find me the best price. A few other dealers were offering around £400 off.

So highly recommend looking around ans then getting your local dealer to match it. ;-)

Sigh - why can't cars be like buying a loaf of bloody bread? I hate haggling and all that cr@p. That's life I suppose! It just seems to me that it means certain people are going to be a victim of their own personality.

Remember the 0% PCP cuts into the dealer's commission, so they have less "to play with".

I'm about to order a citigo from local deal, got a great deal on it. £99.68 a month over 42 months, granted its only for 4k miles a year but the cash price is £8543 for a 5 door se. I recommend using the carwow website getting offers from dealers around the UK and once you get a good 1 take it to your local dealer and they should match it.

My prob now is deciding which dealer to go to as there are 2 neat me.

There is a dealer section here on the Briskoda forums. I don't know where in the UK you are, but all areas are covered. Maybe you might find some reviews and opinions of your two dealers on there to help you decide. Good luck!

I have worked for the trade and know the markup on certain dealers models fo rnew models. And it does vary. Many stock purchases come with enforced purchases too. eg If you wanted stock on Your subaru dealership, you had to take 5 chrevolets, which you didnt want. Also the cars being sold on price as their USP eg the citigo base model, will come with very little room to negotiate on what they wanted you to list it as the RRP.

I am aware of one such car on the car lots, that has just £100 between purchase and forecourt RRP, it doesnt cover the salesmans wages/commission / storage or paperwork time to sell it..

So yes, there is some cases where there is no interest in a deal from the saleman. Most likely they will fabricate a discount by offering undervalue on the trade in car.

So whilst you may think you have edged the price, you are just loosing money on your trae in by not selling privately.

I had a play on carwow and I speced up a 3rd Citigo Sport with most of the options (about £800 worth) and offered a discount of £888!! It turned out with all the options added on £5 less than the otr price lol

Well I am now waiting for my Skoda citigo SE to be delivered, my local dealer was able to match the offer exact just waiting for my build day to be assigned so I can track it which I'm looking forward to :)

I'm amazed at how easy it was to get them to match the price of another dealer via carwow :)

How do you 'track' the process? Is this through the dealer, the manufacturer or via some web tool?

Cheers,

Nick

There is no web tool like you get from VW. But you just contact the dealer or contact SUK Customer Services.

Ok - thanks for that.

Dealer has promised to let me know when they hear more, but at least I can now call SUK if I don't hear too much...

I got told I can track it via a website called trackmyskoda.co.uk however I believe this is only available from certain dealers as it says on the site "Vision Skoda Fleet (Business Sales), Rainworth Skoda (Nottinghamshire) & Bickerton Skoda (South Yorkshire)."
