Servicing plus DPF

Featured Replies

Hello

I've just been fishing around for a quote for an 80K service plus cambelts on my late 2002 superb. So far, the local Skoda dealer quoted 650 and an independent has come in at 620. The independent mentioned the DPF was due changing at this mileage (Skoda garage never mentioned it) Is one being led up the garden path?

Does a car of this age even have one as they seem to have mainly come in around 2006?

All advice gratefully received

Garden path... :(

Find another independent.  Your car doesn't have a DPF - only the 2.0 diesel has.

What engine do you have?  If 1.9 diesel the dealer price is about right, the indy one really quite pricey.

Id recommend that the water pump is replaced at the same time as the cambelt if its covered 80k,id also get some more quotes as those prices seem expensive.

No DPF on the 1.9. Unless someone got it retro fitted... lol.

Thanks for the replies thus far, the engine is the 2.5TDI.

Fresh quote in this morning from local garage is £620 to do all the belts including water pump plus £190 for full service.

It doesn't seem to come in any cheaper at least not around here

Ah, I think the V6 belt change is a bit more expensive than the 1.9, as it is a bit more involved.  But I don't have any more useful info on that, sorry.

Anyhow, the V6 doesn't have DPF either.

No DPF on the 1.9. Unless someone got it retro fitted... lol.

This made me chuckle!  :giggle:

There's an idler/damper on the V6 which is/isn't part of a belts kit.  This was nearly the death of mine as it failed immediately after the belts were changed.  Any garage worth their salt should know it's false economy to not do this one as well:
