not sure if this is too much information, but apologies if so - just tell me what i need to include in future

Thanks

I must add that I was experimenting with fuses whilst fitting a dash cam, so I had taken out and replaced various fuses in order to check the accuracy of the fuse box diagram!

Thanks

If it were me, I'd clear them all. Scan again in a few days and see if any remain or have returned.

As you've been playing with fuses, if clear them all and then wait a few days if driving and scan again.

I suspect most if not all will disappear unless there really is a problem.

now why didn't I think of that?!

Cheers chaps, will clear tonight and scan again

A daft question from someone who doesn't have one but isn't there a website somewhere you can get the VCDS software free from that lists all the codes and what the causes might be, or is that what you've already done above?

Bit of a numpty question I know so appologies if I'm on completely the wrong path.

There's no such thing as a stupid question...

The Ross Tech Wiki has the fault codes and you can download the software from there. It lists most of the codes and, if your one is not listed, you can contact Ross Tech Support for more information.

This is assuming you have a support package with them - which you will have if you bought a genuine cable from one of their official suppliers.

The cable isn't free and the software will only work fully & properly with a genuine Ross Tech cable.

You've not met the wife then LOL. Could well be an option for me to mull over as her Seat has a problem with the central locking so getting one of these could help avoid paying a dealer to sort it out and it would be handy to see what the octy is doing too I guess.

My wife's Fabia also has a problem with her central locking, but no fault codes...

Yours might show something, but don't guarantee it.

Alternatively (and much cheaper) is to look up the VCDS owners map (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/224376-vcds-owners-map/) on here and find someone local to you who can scan it for beer.

As you say recently purchased and it's had the Steering wheel and head unit upgrade you may well find that these faults originated from when that was carried out. Could well of been during the work the ignition was turned on with things unplugged or simply just needs recoding to clear them all as one fault actually says module incorrectly coded!

As KBPhoto and Jonny5ive say clear em and see what's what!

Well, cleared all the codes and now the only remaining codes are:

01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded

            000 - -

             Freeze Frame:

                    Fault Status: 01100000

                    Fault Priority: 1

                    Fault Frequency: 254

I have not noticed any obvious faults to suggest there is a problem - should I get this checked out?

4C-Tire Pressure II -- Status: Not registered 000

Cannot be reached

No idea what this is but the tyre pressure monitor seems to work

9458449 cellular antenna

B1053 short to ground

confirmed - tested since memory clear

again phone seems to work ok?

Any ideas

thanks

It what I did when we got the Touran.  There were shed loads of errors.  Cleared them all and rechecked a few weeks later and none had come back.

Has your car got sensors in each wheel for pressure monitoring?

Has your car got sensors in each wheel for pressure monitoring?

I have no idea - how would I know? It has the Tyre pressure monitoring as standard.

Also, I tried to select the tire pressure II on the list from one of the menu's and it would not allow me to save it.

IIRC, EddieNL made me aware of this when for some reason my car had it "checked" on the installed list, it is the more advanced system which monitors individual tyre pressures where as the other type uses the ABS system to detect differing wheel speeds to indicate deflation but it can't tell you which wheel just by being in the car you have to check the pressures.

I would guess you would have metal valves coming out of the wheels rather than rubber ones as the sensors are bolted to the wheel.

I'm not sure what system would be fitted on your age of car to be honest but if it's had changes to the modules it may of been accidentally "checked" somehow and it needs changing,  65-tire pressure is the common module.

Have a look or maybe someone else here can correct me on how the newer system works

It'll be ABS based

TPMS works off the ABS sensors. That's why you can't select it (it gets coded into the ABS controller). There generally isn't a Skoda 'module' specifically for TPMS.

There shouldn't be anything 'ticked' for it in the CAN gateway installation list. Check there and remove (4c above) and that should sort out the first two error codes.

01044 (http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01044) possibly backs that up.

No reference in the RT Wiki for the antenna fault code though. It's probably a faulty antenna.

Do you know where it is? Check the BT module under the driver's seat for a purple FAKRA plug. If it's not there , you don't have an external antenna fitted.

If there is a small circuit board visible sticking out, that's the antenna.

If there's a cable then that runs to a roof mounted antenna. Water is know to get into these and cause problems. Usually with radio reception though.

Thanks, I'll check that i the mornming.

Re the BT box, there is only 1 lead going into it, so I assume I do not have an external antenna fitted

Thanks

That's right. The 7p6 module I believe you have is HFP only so does not need the antenna.

Thanks Adam

I won't worry about that one then

Is it against module 77? My old module was a 7p6 equivalent and didn't have an antenna either but it never threw up a similar error. I believe there is a bit in the module 77 coding to turn off antenna diagnostics.

Thanks, I may have a look at this when I get the kit back, but I can live with it at the very least

Cheers

Yep, seen this a few times, incorrectly coded retro fitted BT modules.

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

mate dont take this the wrong way,but you are mad to put a tuning box into a new car like that? those boxes are NO GOOD for your car.trust me Ive done lotsa them in the past, along with remaps,& remaps are acceptible but those boxes are rubbish mate!why not just buy a quicker car or more economical one?

  • 4 weeks later...

Does the large list of faults appear if the battery has been disconnected? So when you clear them and most don't come back, is that what is happening here?
