Featured Replies

Owned the vRS just over a week.. here's a quick overlay of what I have had to do due to th  previous owner being a proper doosh bag and near driving it into the ground!!!

105,400 miles and just over a week of owning --

*cam belt kit

*water pump

*thermostat

*coolant sensor

*brake light switch

*sump drop, pick up cleaned, oil and filter change

*change blown turbo

*aux belt

*New RAD tomorrow

I wonder what will be next :-o

Car has raped me of 600 sheets in just over a week... there's prob more but quickly off my head

Oh god. Owned mine a week and done nothing with it so nothing can break any more than it is. Lol

Just out of interest, what was the previous history of the car?, many owners at all?.

hmmm im guessing breather pipes split  or crank sensor lol

Guys.. I just want to drive it more than 50 miles without doing anything.. in fact, if I do 50 consecutive trouble free miles I will prob faint lol

Crash it ??

Crash it ??

Now that really is harsh ............. :giggle:

Did you buy it in the dark or without looking at it?

Cam belt and pump are routine but the rest is definitely unlucky, but did they all just fail with no warning?

With all that bad luck I'd be putting some money on the lottery, you;re owed some good luck ;)

I also thought alot of the police ones had larger turbo's? I know one ex police one I looked at had a k04 on but it was dropping to bits

No police didn't have anything different to the norm

Apart from large metal slab under engine

That one I looked at must've just had a turbo upgraded earlier on by someone without the current owner really knowing what crack was- big slab? Overly zealous sump guard or something?

No  - option ton weight sump guard from Skoda - about £180 all in and about 5mpg less due to the weight

Been a betting man, im going with your replacement turbo going pop

Sounds like a right shed, why did you buy it?

Sounds like a right shed, why did you buy it?

Ha, that's even harsher than Clive!

I can't believe you've been so unlucky with it but these do need looked after their whole lives and their past servicing and treatment is so important.

You can rag the **** out of them as long as you treat them well (if that makes any sense).....

But onto the bets.... I'm gonna guess the diff will give up after you have it remapped  :wall:

I local crim recognises the car as ex-rozzer and lays a big slimey steaming brown poo on the bonnet?

Its an ex police and it never had a cambelt? Strange.

Service history should be immaculate.....

I would of checked more thoroughly chap if i was you!

I reckon we should all chp in and get the poor lad a pint (or 20) lol

Sounds like a right shed, why did you buy it?

I go out for an hour and we get a new leader on the harsh board... :giggle: , I feel his pain, reminds me of my son's hotrod lcr

Lol
