recalled coil packs?

Featured Replies

Heard about recalls on original coil packs..

Number one has been changed in my car, it's a Bosch one, but 2, 3 and 4 are vag ones part number 065 905 115L

How do I get free bee's ? Take to skoda? Lol

My first post has been edited, because number one has been changed before.. the rest are L packs

Can anyone confirm these need changing under recall please? As the 17 page thread in the above link is confusing as hell lol

After the money I've had to spend out on the car, some free and very new coil packs would be great :-)

Thanks in advance

I think the latest change revisions that the dealers are fitting and looking for are in the last couple of pages of that thread. I can't really help as mine were changed 14 months ago, and they must have revised them since then.

Best bet is if most of them are the same, then take car to local dealer, get them to check them under the recall and see if they will replace them - you never know even odd one may be later oem - that's what I did with mine.

Try get hold of another one so they all match

Got mine done last week at the local Edinburgh Skoda. Also did a visual health check which highlighted a few things which was good.

there will be some one around with an original one stuck in a box somewhere... surely beer tokens would encourage a gift for you

The latest versions are R iirc and now D. Skoda say there are no issues with these versions so won't come under the recall. So I would say your L version coil packs would be replaced under the recall. You could try and get hold of another L I suppose but if one has already been changed, chances are it'll be one of the latest ( not faulty ) versions.

Also forgot to say, just phone your local main dealer and mention the coil pack recall. He'll find it on the system when he looks. When I rang, the fella on the desk hadn't even heard of a recall!

Just got off the phone to them, apparently the woman I need to speak to that books registrations is not in until Monday

So will find out Monday, I've got 3 "L' s" so those will set be changed.. just asked a mate if he has a spare one, even a cooked one that I could pinch of him

I got mine changed middle of last year I think. I put my old versions back in, but I only had 3 old versions and one R. They only changed the 3.

Will feel good having latest coil packs for free after spending 600 quid on it since owning :-o

Had 3 done at skoda in hull got a free wash and vac result. Worth popping to scrapyard and getting a old one so you get a full set. If it's duff just fit it in the dealers car park.

I did it as it was booked in for Monday and started misfiring on the Saturday, so got a new Bosch coil pack fitted that for the weekend then Monday morning fitted the duff one in their car park. One had already been replaced so they did 3 I fitted my new Bosch so that makes 4, and I carry the other good one in the boot as a spare.

Can't fault you for that mate, I would do the same with my Bosch one lol...

And in any case, this serves vag group right for not getting it correct in the first place imo! :-)

Agreed mate

How do you check the part numbers to see if mine can have the recall?

remove the electrical clip and the part number is on the top of that on the coilpack itself...

should read 065 905 115 with a letter on the end. mine read 065 905 115L

anything other than D or R i think need changing...
