Wayne, don't know if you got my PM but the campaign is 15D7 as shown in the above link

Skoda UK have offered me 40% discount. Which includes 10% for brand loyalty.

I've mentioned the campaign and they are checking.

When I originally queried this with the dealer they said I wasn't affected despite being a 2009 production vehicle with engine code CCZA.

Very disappointed that this part has failed somewhat prematurely on a vehicle with an extensive dealer service history.

Just got a reply from my dealer who said there are 10 options for this topic, all of which are chargeable!

Basically if something goes wrong, Skoda give 10 options for the repair, depending on the severity of the damage.

Number 1 was complete engine change ,,,,, can't remember the 10th option due to the length of the list. He could not give me a copy of the list as it is Skoda info ONLY!

He also said they had done just one in the last seven years.

So the ball bounces back to the owner, you have to pay to get it checked or you wait and see if something goes, then you pay for that!

I feel a hand round a scrotum here.

2 Skodas from new. Both with a full and extensive service history.

1st Car - a Skoda Fabia vRS. Immaculately kept. I've actually found it for sale at the moment! Turbo failed not long out of warranty despite having 38000 miles on the clock. I paid the labour, Skoda paid the parts. It was this experience that led me to trade in for a new Octavia vRS.

My confidence is rocked to be honest and the Skoda nay sayers around me are quietly smirking to themselves!

Skoda UK have requested photographs of the damaged parts from the dealer.

A ray of sunshine at least, all is not lost.

Update. After a bit of chatting back and forth I've accepted a goodwill contribution of 70% towards the repair. I'm happy with this outcome and will be glad to get the car back.

Props to Sinclair Skoda in Swansea as ever :)

The 30% that you are covering should give you 2 year warranty on the parts and work.

Not too bad an outcome.
